It's a fair stance to take, but I think its a rather rare circumstance. The most recent stories I've seen of violent mental illness involved self harm or chaotic attacks. Sexual deviance seems to play a little role within the people who commit violence outside of their mental faculties. Even the extremely depressed are consciously aware of their state of mind and actions. By the time one has anti-pedophile vigilantes showing up at ones door; it's clear that one's actions have been made with conscious maliciousness.
