Got a few minutes into this and lost interest, he spends the first few minutes talking about James Cameron pitching Aliens, then goes on a tangent about the movie he's supposed to be talking about, whining about how the new Ghostbusters movies has the old cast come back and be treated respectfully, and then finishes the story about Aliens, before finally starting his review three minutes in.

Bob's tone sounds so 'done'. It has for a while now, but you can tell how burnt out he is. After sixteen years of this, he's back where he was, making videos on youtube in his mother's house with nothing to show for it except a backlog where most of the views and income went to other people and a failed bunch of books. But he's too stubborn to quit. Last year he talked about this being a 'make or break year' for him but considering how he tried to spin the duds that were that "This Movie Exists" videos as a success, I don't think he ever meant he was going to quit. He doesn't want to do this, but he doesn't want to admit that everyone who ever said he was a shitty content creator and needs to give up was right.

But when he does do it, he'll probably try to spin it as him leaving to go onto bigger and better things, finally achieving his dream of being a film maker. When in reality he'll just be sulking at home and writing even more angry tweets.

Pretty much. His entire outlook on the world is that most people are beneath him, morally and intellectually. As such, if he's barely of average intelligence, they must be just above a grunting caveman. If he's an angry bastard, everyone else must be rage filled as well. If he delights in seeing others suffer, which seems to be the only happiness he can get these days, then clearly that's why everyone is being mean to him, and it's no fault of his own. He's a lazy bastard, so clearly any director he hates that other people like is just sitting around while others do the work for him because it's an easy job, which is why he wants it, and only he's smart enough to understand it.

There's also a lot of cope in his rage against things other people like. For example, he used to rage more against people who said TVs being bigger now meant there was less incentive to go to a cinema. Yeah, being able to go to a critic screening makes him feel more important, but also I highly doubt he ever upgraded his TV to 4K, he probably still has the same HDTV, if he even sprung for that, that he got when he first moved out. A lot of his anger about Sega is probably because his parents wouldn't buy him both consoles. He insists he's smart for never buying a house, but has never been in a position where he could have bought one.

Also, his theory of mind isn't the only underdeveloped thing about him.
