LLCs, especially series LLCs, are actually increasingly quite common for property management companies, which is about the closest analog I can think of to being a maid who cleans up giant logs from your rental homes.
Assuming you do the normal formalities to avoid veil piercing, it’s a very easy and useful tool for protecting both personal assets and the assets of other properties. But that’s a big IF. That also probably gets too deep into the weeds on LLC law, since veil piercing is only going to arise in the jurisdictions that tend to apply corporate law principles to LLCs, instead of partnership law.
You are correct though that it doesn’t (generally) make sense to do it for just renting out your second house. It’s still a handy tool even for Rick I suppose, in that it does give a little more protection of his personal assets from creditors. But probably not worth the cost to set it up, compared to just avoiding liability incurring actions in the first place. Unless it was something the Dyke wanted to protect her other assets.

A good quality DVD rip is 500mb to a gb. Maybe with fancy compression you can cut that in half, so four hours per gb, a terabyte is 4000 hours of dvd.

A "big" movie can be a lot more than a few gigabytes. The exercise is pretty pointless since the same movies are available in file sizes that differ by multiple orders of magnitude.

HD 1080p episodes of Supernatural are 380gb alone. Star Trek Next Generation BRips are 150gbs each season. You have to excuse Patrick, he's too poor to afford anything better than 360p so he doesn't know size of a good copy of a show is. My copies of Dune are around 80gbs at 2160p. Clone Wars series plus movie at 2160p are 320gbs total.

Audio is lossless, it's one of the reasons why it's so high. Similar to how a FLAC cd can be a few gigs. Black Sabbaths discography is like 100gbs in FLAC format. I really don't want my shows to sound terrible on my system.
