It's important to recognize that entrapment is not something a lot of the predators can argue, as they at minimum, are very often capable of recognizing that what they are partaking in, is illegal. They may not know entirely why it is, but if they know what they're doing is not allowed, they are being irresponsible under their own volition. Someone who is not capable of knowing why its illegal may have been entrapped, (or is mentally incompetent) likely because they did not know the age or were coaxed into believing its not illegal.
If they can prove that they recognize what they're doing is wrong/illegal, then that person is responsible and its not a victim of entrapment. If you want to give sympathy to someone who has pedophilic ideations, don't offer it to those who understand its wrong and still predate.

Nah it's because they completely botched the catch and got nailed by the law suit.

They went to his house because they knew it was a big catch. They never did this for anyone else and it was the less grave offense by a pred on the show.

I don't think thats entirely true, a lot of the time people who do this don't seem to send CP, and if they did the hunter should be able to contact law enforcement and have them conduct a search as they are usually working with law enforcement when they plan to go meet up for a detainment.
I dont think law enforcement can really do anything better or more effective than the hunters who know what evidence they need to gather, as the only thing they're limited in is holding CP as evidence themselves.
The entrapment argument can be invoked if the predator can prove that they were never told the age or that they did not genuinely realize what they were doing was illegal.

That’s why they use telegram. The content is pushed to their phone, no downloading is done. It’s a passive action. If that happens they simply contact law enforcement and hand over the burner phone. The content being deleted would be a crime, turning over the phone is not and it’s been used to get convictions.

And this is just one team. There are thousands of arrests and convictions nationwide between them all.

I’m sure this isn’t an original take but I always feel like after they severely dropped the ball on the whole EDP confrontation thing, they really just got their shit together and then made sure they wouldn’t let their catches slip away that easily.
