Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

Grey's post reeks of being upset the libshits are getting pushback for wishing a presidential candidate was shot dead on live TV, as if her sperging about a scooby doo project done by a college student using AI voices didn't convince you enough that she's become a psychopath. I await her and everyone in her VA clique to meltdown when Trump wins in November.
"Wow you guys are just so sensitive!"

This is why playing nice doesn't work with these cunts. Be nasty. Shove their statements in their face. Make them pay. Pretty sure this bitch was in with the anti Rittenhouse crowd when his trial was hot, and would routinely mock "conservative tears".

These people hate you. Make them fucking cry in turn.

Grey DeLisle (and many others, really) embodies the perfect mantra in this image of the saying "Never meet your idols".

I remember someone from some thread on kiwifarms once asked "Why does it hurt more when voice actors turn out to be libshits?" and I think I got an answer. Voice actors are not celebrities. You never saw them featured on TMZ or Entertainment Tonight and you rarely see them talked about in the media so the only people who knows of them is people in the industry and bum nerd types like us. We grow up listening to there voices in cartoons and video games. So when it came time for social media to come along and we find out the truth, it ends up feeling a lot more personal.

Good point. Perhaps for me, in particular, that grew up watching a lot of cartoons (even as far as my teenage years, where I mixed alongside other TV programs) it feels more in tune to "stars" compared to actors.

That's fucking rich coming from a woman who had a separate Twitter account dedicated solely to making offensive jokes.

I have no idea if it's still up but she did it under the name Stephanie Client.

So in the new Fairly Oddparents reboot, adult Poof was revealed and honestly, the design is nice. It's a nice blend between Wanda and Cosmo, with even the voice being very similar to how Cosmo sounded in the first season.

But another thing I noticed was his new name. He calls himself Peri, short for Periwinkle, now. You're wondering, "Why so"?

Well, someone who works at the show said it was because Poof is considered a slur in many countries. I checked it and it's apparently a derogatory slang for a gay dude in the UK.

I don't get it. Who complained about this? Poof was revealed in 2008 and I don't remember any sort of controversy surrounding the name, just the character. If someone did complain about it, it probably got ran off the radar because... who's even aware of this? It makes no sense. Did anyone in the UK even boycott the show back then because of the name? Or is it common sense that a good majority of UK viewers aren't even aware of poof being a slur? Not to mention, I'm sure the average joe can tell the difference between a word being used internationally having different meanings behind it. Don't forget, the f word is a slur in America but slang for a cigarette in the UK.

Britkiwis, have y'all ever heard the word be actively used? I haven't whatsoever.

It's a completely unnecessary change. Again, they said it's offensive in "many countries" but I only see the UK as an example, unless they mean the countries in the British Isles.

Even so... who's... complaining about this? Ehh, it's a nothingburger in the end. It doesn't affect the show or its character in any way. Just moreso a nitpick than anything.

Quote retweets chime in, too.

...and of course...

Self explanatory.

Today's global consumption? What, is most people offended by the word poof now? I don't... what.

I know "poof" as a slang term and slightly recall people mocking the fact a gaybaby fairys catchphrase was "poof" but I don't think it really mattered. I agree Poof was a stupid name anyways and this adult version is pretty cool. Bluntly saying "I decided to change my name" is a bit strange though.

Edit, I just had the realization that they will probably make Poof/Peri gay and they can't have a gay character named "Poof" lmao

Spongebob really is becoming an outlet for disgusting fetishes now isn't it...

Perhaps, but isn't this one of many instances of a trend in children cartoons to make scenes about filthy, filthy stuff and dirty shit? I remember a lot of this in the shit I watched as a kid, Cow & Chicken and Ren & Stimpy come to mind.

I like Azula. I don't care about the VA. It's that simple. I like Overlord (the 2007 game franchise). I enjoy the specific writing style it (and its sequels bar the Fellowship of Evil) has. The writer (bar that one before mentioned example) is pretty good at her job. She can make great simple stories, and she can make great complex stories. But she is one of those typical lefties (far as I can tell). And that's alright. I enjoy the games because of whats in them, not for the politics of people working on them.

Or take Star Wars for example. Luke Skywalker was acted very well in the original trilogy. Doesn't mean Mark Hamill isn't a crazed retard.
Luke Skywalker was at his best as a character in the star wars video games when Mark Hamill wasn't portraying him. Not a bad actor, but he's definitely lost his mind in recent years.

Okay, I know I should post this on the Disney forums, but if you want to know how truly fuck the conditions are at Disney and how deeply degenerates and pedophiles have taken them over, and how much your hard-earned cash is being wasted on someone wanted to cut their dick off, check this video below.
