This reminded me. Here's a vintage racist book that represents the underappreciated racist current of sinophobia. Almost a lost art, I'd say. Try to name a couple of such books from the last 50 years. And I'm not talking about conservatives whining about CCP, but legitimate, "Yellow Peril" type hatred of the Chinese.

Written by Ralph Townsend, a US consul stationed China in the 30s. His other hobbies included promoting non-interventionism and championing nature preservation. Interesting guy, for sure.

Honestly as an appreciator of Chinese history I totally get the criticism without even flipping to page one.

My criticism goes like this:

Despite being able to rival/surpass the Western world with technological advancements, China had a shit ton of issues for how impressive it is. Modernly, they've all come to a crux as greed makes way for things like Tofu Dregs/Tofu Buildings (look them up. It's horrifying. Imagine buying new construction to discover it's Styrofoam covered in cement. Now imagine this as an institutionalized issue...." Many parts of Chinese culture you are prized for 1upping someone and there is no honor or pride in ones labor. The same thing can be said for Pajeets where getting ahead is at any cost. It's terrible for society and cutting corners leads to an overall more terrible society.

Also that being said "The International Jew" is on of the best books I've read on the JQ. Jews non-stop harassed Ford for investing back into his people and not into lining pockets of (((investors))).

My friend is a reindeer herder, and he caught two Chinamen trying to saw off the antlers off his reindeer and he spooked them away by firing in the air. If it can be extracted from an animal through torture, it has a place in traditional Chinese medicine as an ED pill. And wait until you hear about bile bears. "Ralph Townsend provided one of the oddest, least-time-conscious, and pernicious titles (printed in 1938!) in my experience with pulpy propagandistic quick-publications of the 1930's. Townsend (1900-1976) was a Columbia School of Journalism product, but something happened, and emerged in the 1930's as a deep Sinophobe, an anti-Roosevelt anti-interventionist far-right apologist for the imperialism of the Japanese government.

He got into trouble after Pearl Harbor, deeper in 1942, for being an unregistered agent of the Japanese government and was sent to jail. He survived himself and had a career writing about his very far right-wing ideas, and is evidently a favorite of some out-on-the-end-of-the-spectrum Right Wing folks today for his isolationist and ultra-orthodox America-for Americans views.

What it boils down to in Asia, for Townsend, is that the Sino-Japanese war as the fault of the Chinese, and that Japan simply fought to protect its interests, and then, with the occupation of China, to further protect itself and (yes) China. Fun fact, US House of Representatives member Hamilton Fish III who made a speech in favor of declaring war on Japan and even tried to enlist, later came to realize the old warmongering cripple FDR had bamboozled them. Another book I can recommend, which isn't racist though and thus outside of the scope of this thread is Herbert Hoover's indictment of the "Good War"; Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover's Secret History of the Second World War and Its Aftermath. His view of letting Commies and Nazis duke it out without sacrificing American boys was foresightly, as was condemning the provocation of Japan. Hoover even talks about the NKVD penetration of the US System, as we know FDR was surrounded by USSR agents of influence. He wrote the bookwhen these things were still in recent memory, but it was so radioactive it was only published 50 years after his death. Hoover might have not been so successful in his domestic policies but his wisdom in foreign politics is hard to doubt with the benefit of hindsight.

This is why historically jews were rightly regarded as "oriental" -- all the insular carny ethics presented above fortify this perception.

Three pages in, and nobody has mentioned Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's 2002 essay Two Hundred Years Together, about the complicated historical relationship between Russians and Jews.

Despite his denial that the Jews were categorically responsible for 1905 and 1917, and his denunciation of the pogroms, he still says some unflattering things about Jews. Which was considered anti-Semitic enough for there to be no official English translations.

Currently reading Serpent's Walk. (Oddly it has a Goodreads page.) It is terrible. As in giving off the sense of being written by somebody marginally literate. Basically a Brad Thor tier thriller except the Yahtzees are the good guys. And in 2040-ish will be rising from the ashes to take their fully justified revenge. I suppose matters aren't helped with how poorly the pirated ebook I'm reading is formatted. Every second page there's a monologue about how the Jooz were not 'causted, even though they deserved it.

It was written by MAR Barker under a pseudonym. Since I don't table top game I'd never heard of the guy, but he apparently developed one of the earliest TTRPGs, right after D&D came out. I saw the book mentioned on Reddit in a thread about "most hated authors" and my curiosity was piqued. You'd think somebody like this could write something passable, but apparently not.

Pretty much all of Fleming's villains are mixed-race and homosexual.

They're blatant fags (or as blatant as you could be in the 1960s) in the movie version of Diamonds are Forever as well. I think in the scene where they off the old lady they walk away hand in hand. Sadly the only occurrence in a movie version of one of the novels I'm aware of.

Theodore Newman Kaufman was an American Jewish businessman and writer. In 1941, he wrote and published Germany Must Perish! which called for the sterilization of the German people and the redistribution of the German lands.
He proposed the mass sterilization of all German men under 65 and the sterilization of German women under 45. This would eliminate "inbred Germanism," he proposed, thus solving a great deal of humanity's problems. He also promoted the distribution of Germany's lands among the neighboring countries. His effort was spearheaded by his book Germany Must Perish!

This was a matter of concern for any German who read his book especially due to his influence. Kaufman was a close friend of Samuel Irving Rosenman who was a trusted advisor to the U.S. President, Franklin Roosevelt. The Germans saw this as Talmudic hatred which would influence US foreign policy.

This story got significant traction in the German press. It caused further fear and distrust for all Jews as they were already known to be treasonous and working with Jews across the borders. Kaufman's peace plan was published in the German newspaper Völkischer Beobachter, On July 24, 1941, On September 1, 1941, it became mandatory for the German Jews to openly identify themselves by using a yellow badge on their clothing.

Stalag/Murphy is the "official" translation, but I would argue Ford is the best. Hitler writes in very stream of consciousness style and has lot of long sentences and its a challenge for translators. Ford even wrote a 200 page book on the translation controversy.

MK, despite of being a 100 year old book is oddly timeless. I read it again every once in a blue moon, and something completely new jumps at me and reminds me of the current political situation.

I've got a book suggestion: Israel Shahak's book Jewish History, Jewish Religion. I'll let a few quotes from his wikipedia article speak for it:

To kick us off, here's Who Is Esau Edom? by Charles A. Weisman. The book argues Jews are literal children of Satan so I would say it qualifies with flying colors.
