Mega Rad Gun Thread

FA was found to be extremely use for clearing rooms, trenches, suppressing fire and for shooting people running across distances.

3 round / 2 round burst was found to be almost useless.

FA has its uses and should be kept on any modern assault rifle. It's also a morale booster.

OK I want to see the sources on those studies. The very first original M16 as fielded by the first army to ever use it, the US Army infantry was true select fire in the southern indochina conflict AKA Vietnam war. Within 20 years they kept almost exactly the same rifle and removed the full auto select fire option replacing it for the 3 round burst. Just previous to that was the M14 it was was also select fire and it lasted shorter in US military infantry use than any rifle in history. Field report formed from studies were that basic infantry would hear twig snap somewhere and magdump into the brush despite their CO telling the entire squad "only shoot what you can ID, keep the rifle in semi." Full Auto in a real full power .30 caliber cartridge like 7.62 nato, 30.06 8mmm Mauser even if you are a big 300lb dude shooting prone you are going to have so much trouble sending anything after that 3 round near your intended target. original M16's no optics were just shy of 7.5lbs compared to the M60 which was around 20lbs or so. It was nice and heavy designed for sustained full auto for 500 rounds, simply not enough metal to deal with the heat in early full auto M16's. IMHO moral is always going to be compromised in equipment and command. In WW2 The Germans thought the 1911 was superior to the Luger, some of the GI's assumed the luger was more accurate and 9mm being far better for repeating fire. The grass is always greener. Bringing a bolt action gun to a gas operated fight was dumber than sand, especially when they knew how effective the MG34 could be.

The SBR in 9mm FA will always have use for law enforcement or security detail. IMHO The beauty of 9mm is it's not going to over penetrate and you can simply drill someone in FA 25 rounds of anything .32 acp or larger they are almost guaranteed to die within 2 seconds, Gordan Ingram knew that, based half his designs on that idea. It's either the MP5 or the M60 FA in actual combat in the standard issue assault rifle makes no sense to me.

i wanted to highlight this deal: https://palmettostatearmory.com/truglo-ignite-22mm-2-moa-red-dot-sight-black-tg8322bn.html

$40 for a truglo red dot with integrated mount.

yeah it's chinesium and lacks a lot of rugged reliability you would want in a dot. however i have one on a knocked together shit AKM (AMD-64) build as a post-sample purely to test any AK parts that i sometimes get asked about or to work on and it's held up to a steady diet of 7.62x39 steel case bullshit and being thrown around in a truck bed for the better part of 7 years now. i paid $89 for it in 2017 thereabouts, and at that price you're better off with a primary arms optic or vortex.

at $40 it's worth it and i can confirm that my sample at least holds up on a remington 11-87 i SBS'd as well.

Along with the armor it's double extra bad, but that grip angle though :story:

Why not just print a standard receiver? It's still not even California compliant lol.

And speaking of shotguns....

It kinda warms my heart to see these simple, old scatterguns finding new lives & potentially saving them as well.

It really boggles the mind, but criminals aren't the brightest. They're already committing a felony by shooting at people. Maybe they just don't know enough about guns to make them non compliant.

I assume he wanted it to look legal in case he got pulled over or something.

This guy is a retarded posing faggot that knows nothing about actual firearms.
I've never seen him before. Just saw his ridiculous overpriced 1911. Guy has more money than sense. Its the price of a fucking Accuracy International .338LM.
Crazy to pay that for a 1911.
fifteen thousand dollar 1911s are fucking gay
A grand is about average for a decent high end handgun. Sigs legion series are about $900-$1200, Taran Tactical run a little more expensive but if you want quality its worth it.
$1500 is expensive but worth it, its not much if your not a poorfag and you shoot a lot.
Obviously if its just for defense you're fine with a Glock as long you don't mind the shitty trigger (but that can be fixed, I guess unlike the weird ergonomics) shit even a Hi Point is ok if its purely for self defense, its better than nothing.
$15000 is insane.

At a certain point a man has to ask himself how many guns do I need? I like to think I have some thing for every scenario possible short of a squad support gun or .a 50BMG long rages rifle. I don't even like revolvers and I own two of them. @Procrastinhater is right. a $500 Glock is good enough service weapon, last I recal it was the Police standard for all 1st world nations for a solid 2 decades. Reliable, simple. light, cheap the striker trigger sucks but you can get a n Apex for around $100 and give it the decent trigger. My only grip with Glock was you needed to charge the striker but could not mash that trigger to git the primer another smack. An internal single action/double action hammer would have been better but, I guess one of the selling points of the Gen 1 17 was it was "safe action " pistol no hair trigger on that thing.

The shit the breaks me heart is I own a LOT of hand built guns, not just glock kits and finished the FCG pocket AR-lowers but, 1911's that started a block of steel and machined myself, tuned the trigger myself even in the good places these thins make not be allowed in 100 years or so, long after I'm dead something I put my soul into gets destroyed. Just sickening. Imagine spending 2 years restoring a classic car and one day the EPA declares it a "pollution smog machine." Maybe you only put it 10 miles a week on it but, they decided it now has to be considered unworthy for public streets due to emissions or safety standards. Something with huge sentimental value maybe only 100 in the entire country reduced to being an item in museum only.

I own a LOT of hand built guns
kinda in the same boat. while i've put hands on and fired many firearms, and own a very large number personally as well as have control over even more, it's the ones that were gifted/bequeathed to me or the ones i made myself that i gave to others that hold the most value and i spent a good amount of time/money/effort to ensure they will endure. there's more than a few bespoke mountain rifles or shotguns with my initials on a plate at the grip or receiver.

when you make something, make it something you're proud to hand down imho. that's what counts and what makes wood and steel valuable, with history of the piece being a close second. the guns that take you back to a memory of a time long gone is something you can't ever really buy and are extremely difficult to even capture and convey to others.

that $15k handgun is more a testament to the maker's skill and quality of the materials right now. that has value, absolutely, but i'll take my family's beat up old 1911 over it any day if i had to clear out my valuables in a hurry.

If my local gunstore started making guns I feel like this is the pricing model they would use, this has to be the most fudd thing ive ever seen.
Yep demarkus steel boy mmmhhhmmm yeeeppp custom engraved, dremmeled it myself. Yeeeep won the dam war mhhmmm, 15k pretty good price probably as cheap as your gonna get it. I gotta make a little money too ya know?

This company speaks like fucking tech bros spewing industry jargon at a table of retarded investors with their "aerospace technology and tolerances"

I've never seen him before.
Basically this is some pathetic boomer retard who woke up one day and decided he wanted a bunch of clout on social media so he bought a shitload of guns, almost all of them retarded and trash to serve as the meat and potatoes for a youtube channel.

He has absolutely NOTHING interesting aside from his own indoor range. Which is insane considering how much money hes dumped into those firearms. The guy could easily have multiple genuinely interesting firearms but instead he has walls of dog shit striked out ARs and braced pistols. He thinks spending $10000+ on a brand new guchi 1911 is a flex. Retards like him should be humiliated and shamed.

more than one SF/SOF team has lost guns in the sandbox and ditching a gun is better than having it snag on objects or be made when exfil and captured at a POE or something. the rare instances of teams getting wiped or having a guy captured usually gets their gear distributed as trophies. the times i've recovered the gear it's all rusted with dead batteries or even damaged in some way but kept quite clean with soap/water and sometimes oil. ANA captured stuff is actually used though like any other captured gear.

it was a trip to see some weird stuff show up in libya in the hands of various factions - mausers, super old M14's, even some guys running around with Libyan security forces F2000s.

I’m not gonna defend Cabot Custom’s pricing. The only reason to buy one of those is if you’re unironically Jeff Bezos rich.

IMO, the 1-3K 1911’s can be another story. Middle and upper class people routinely drop several grand on a diver’s watch, their wives purses and several thousand more a year on upgrading all the phones in their household.

Dropping 3K on something like say a Nighthawk Custom when you intend on EDCing it and potentially keeping it as a family heirloom isn’t that retarded IMO.

The perspective is odd and I can't get a great look at it, but I think it's an MK18 pistol he's running on a single point sling. He would be doing a no no if it is a pistol with that vert grip. The M4A1 is pinned from the factory, so it'd be really goofy if he was running a brace on it, and it doesn't seem long enough to be a M4V9. I'm assuming it's a Daniel Defense due to the pistol grip and quad rail. Also more fun from that video you can see state police running around with their LE6920s, other SWAT are running around with franken builds and Daniel Defense rifles. Real hodgepodge of gear. Guess you can bring your own rifle out there.
