Wendigoon Thread

I watched the full episode and honestly, the story was really good! Definitely exceeded my expectations - one of the rare times an Internet horror writer successfully executes on a compelling premise without descending into gratuity or nonsense. Body horror always gets me, and I think the scene of the narrator descending into the Pig's maw is one of the most memorable vignettes from any of the stories they've covered so far.

One thing I have noticed besides the longer intros (a gripe of I have with Isaiah's content in general) is how often Hunter and Wendi get sidetracked into tangents that aren't as funny or interesting to listen to as they think. When Creepcast started it was the pastas themselves that were the "main character" so to speak, but the podcast seems to have evolved (or devolved in my view) into two guys shooting the shit while happening to read some Internet horror. I don't think the two elements congeal all that well; I prefer the boys' dynamic and humour to shine through in their reactions to the stories themselves rather than listening to them just goofing off, though that's just my opinion.

"I love Tommy Taffy" 🤨

Isaiah seems unironically pissed off this episode. Anyone notice that?

Anyway, reading ahead the story seems pretty typical for this guy's writing: a genuinely interesting premise bogged down by gratuitous descriptions of rape and violence that makes you wonder if this guy is demented or just edgy. At least this time the story takes place in a pseudo hell so at least it fits with the message of the story.

Edit: really surprised they hadn't censored any of the video yet. That penis thing just came out of nowhere, damn.

I read his Tommy Taffy book, there's more gratuitous rape in that one too. It seems like that happens in every story of his.

Feed The Pig is dumb because how would the place devolve into what it is(Hell Lite) in the first place? If the idea of the Farm is to be a sort of purgatory for suicidals because God felt Hell was too harsh, then why would He allow it to become this twisted den of rape, murder and torture for eternity? Why would God place some Behemoth Pig as the warden of the place that either gives suicidals a second chance or just kicks them to Hell anyway even though God Himself didn't think Hell was a fitting punishment in the first place?

Idk. This story just bugs me. I liked it back in the day when I first read it, but resisting it now is kinda cringe.

I liked it, a weird Idea executed in an interesting way.

Well, you convinced me! Feed the pig isn't theologically accurate!

Red Threads is fucking terrible, holy shit. I thought CreepCast was bad, but at least CC has Wendi and Meat actually enjoying themselves.
Yeah, I had to unsubscribe from Creepcast. After the first couple of episodes, it just turned into them laughing and doing silly voices. Not really my kind of comedy.

If your looking for a straight horror podcast I get it, but I've excepted that it's just two guys talking about horror stories.

It's kinda billed as a first encounter to the stories. I get how someone would like it if they're already familiar with the pastas, but I wasn't in that culture and would much prefer them to be closer to the first few episodes.

Really enjoyed Feed the Pig. I had basically the same reaction to the demon kid getting his head blown off as Meat did, that was great.

Immensely better than Tommy Taffy. Could have done without the guy jerking off and cumming ants but otherwise no complaints, but it didn't feel out of place for not-quite-hell. I did have a laugh at the snake gimp for reasons users of this site might be able to relate to. Crawling into the mouth and being eaten was adequately intense. The length was pretty good, had basically exactly the right amount revealed and left ambiguous. I'm definitely interested in The Black Farm and Return to the Black Farm, they'll probably go a bit too far with revealing things but once I've sat on Feed the Pig for a bit I don't think they'll take away from the original. I also learned what a goat brain was, thanks Meat

Ballen?
Who's he?
True crime/mystery youtuber/podcaster. Former Navy Seal. Occasionally delves into spooky shit. Pretty sure he even covered the Stairs In The Woods and Russian Sleep Experiment, as well as a lot of Missing 411 stuff.

Has the same general vibe wendigoon has. Just a relatively normal, nice dude who likes talking about gruesome shit.

Oh ok,
I watch lore lodge so that's how I get my 411/spoopy stuff.

I liked Feed The Pig, much better than Tommy Taffy. Reminded me a bit of some of Chuck Palahniuks short stories but less gross.

Kudzu video was good, didn't know you could eat it. If they haven't already they should probably try using Ozone machines on it, those tend to kill any plant out there. Put up big tents around an area that is infested and pump it full of ozone for a week or two.

Charlies a boring faggot, all I know about Oompaville is he was fun on the Unsubscribe Podcast and he pissed off IPOS somehow. So he's probably an improvement.

What I still don't understand is what the kid is supposed to be. Is he one of the victims? If so, how did he kill himself? Is he one of the pig's creations, then how did it create something so innocent if all it does it make demented shit?

And I know this guy's whole shtick is pointless shock value, but thay whole scene feels extra pointless, a total non-sequitur that could just as easily be done with some random guy trying to escape getting tortured for making a transgression against the pig. It's no wonder Hunter laughed, that really did come out of left field.

There's leaving things open to interpretation, and then there's not putting enough detail to make any assumptions, and the author went with the latter.
