Reading between the lines from Chrissie Mayr, it sort of sounds like he was offered a plea deal, but he may not want to take it until his challenge of the warrant goes south. I sort of assume that the plea offer will be off the table (or at least modified) when the time comes to challenge the warrant.

They're usually not going to go hog wild when you do something as absolutely basic and cut and dried as challenging a warrant and trying to exclude evidence pretrial. In even the least contested drug case, this is going to be the first thing litigated in the case, and usually, the results of the challenge determine whether it goes to trial. Sometimes the defendant's position gets better, sometimes it gets worse, sometimes it stays the same, but in any event, the outcome will determine what kind of plea deal is on the table afterwards.
