Sorry but your friend is lying. He's at a minimum 173cm tall judging from the pics with Kamala Harris who's 163 and we don't know if she wore heels while Charles usually does not when he's in a suit.
Pretty much every picture of him with women show him hulking above them bending down and as you can see in the picture with the males and one female he's equally tall as the men while the woman is significantly shorter than all of them.

Nah, 5'9" is 175,26cm so no the average is not 180cm, that is considered tall, the average is 176,1cm for the 20-39 age group american males.

173cm is 5 feet 8,11 inches, and that's the minimum height he is, minimum, he might well be quite a taller than that.
It seems very unlikely that the men he posed with in the picture is all really short and the woman also really short.

The thing with "freedom" units is that it gets quite a bit unprecise, because unless you specify the 0, measurements you can differ quite a lot.
