Lost "Life is Strange" MATI episodes bounty - An extremely optimistic attempt to finally complete the MATI archive. (NOT Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Life is Strange: 2, or Life is Strange: True Colors)

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
@Big Mommy I think you could possibly help in this situation. OP needs Life is Strange 2-4 (The original) Bad at Video Games archives. All are dated between November 6th and 14th 2018.

I spent a ridiculous amount of hours looking for all the lost stuff, these are pretty much the only things I have had zero luck with. Stream.me era was a different archiver. Sorry.

Is it really that interesting or is it just for the sake of finding a lost MATI? I remember playing Life is Strange years ago and it was so fucking boring.

Life is Strange -> Women: The Interactive Video Experience For Homosexuals.
You're right, the game is terrible.

The game sucks, but I have never laughed so hard watching a play through of anything. I highly recommend you check it out.

During the early days of the MATI podcast there existed a Discord server, a real server and not a call-in-only shoutbox. If someone possess a dump of said Discord it might contain a link to a recording somebody made. (Someone must have been Discord data hoarding in 2018-2019, right? :) )

Disregard that, I'm 80% sure there was a bot in the server which auto-deleted the messages after a set amount of time :lossmanjack:

Might be worthwhile to check archives of youtube archive channels that have been deleted.
Like this one: https://web.archive.org/web/2019060...0I38DPxENmbe25PgXJrA/videos?disable_polymer=1
The archive only shows videos up to Jan 2020, but the account was made in Jan 2019. Maybe in the past this account had the life is strange videos uploaded but it is impossible to tell.
Unsure if this is any useful, maybe the page source has something important that I can't see. This archive was taken during the chapter 2 stream I think? https://web.archive.org/web/20181109155248/https://www.stream.me/stream-embed/kiwifarms/fullframe

The answer to this question is found in the archive link you posted.

Not definitive proof that the lost episodes were never found but does indicate that they were already considered 'lost' in February of 2019 (roughly 3 months after the original recording).
Its going to come down to a random anon having made an unpublished recording saved somewhere locally I'm afraid.

I asked if anyone had these lost Life is Strange episodes a few months ago in the MATI thread. Everyone either replied with the newer Life is Strange play-throughs, or told me that they had been looking for years and couldn't find them. Josh kept referring to episode 4 in his play-through of episode 5 (iirc), so it was frustrating to realize that episode 2-4 of the original LiS game are kind of just lost media.

I've played through a few of the LiS games myself, and the first one is the most interesting, so it sucks that most of the episodes were never archived (as far as we know). I think the only chance of finding these lost episodes is someone posting them from their personal archive, but from what I've been told, not that many people watched the LiS play-through on Stream.me in the first place.

Maybe if someone has contact with a (former) higher-up at Stream.me, they could ask if all the stream VODs were saved somewhere? A bit far-fetched, but it's just an idea. Hopefully these lost episodes are found.

null should replay it.

Josh reenacting an episode to the best of his ability would be really funny to the point I might seriously consider awarding the bounty to Josh or another business entity he appoints for that.
However the bounty ittself is for those old streams specifically, so that would be something separate symbollically of the same amount.

I believe I have these old episodes saved on an old smartphone that I used to download all the episodes on to listen at work.
The problem? Last year, one of my client's sent it through a wall and broke the phone in a fit of rage. If I get it fixed anytime soon and find the episodes I'll post an update. However, I reckon someone else will get them dredged up first before I get to them.

I think I also have a download of the first video off the Kiwi Farms Youtube channel before he started doing MATI streams that was an edit of ALR shaking or doing something dumb idr

Depending on repair costs and the 3 episodes being ~$481.68 total, you might even make a profit.

I eagerly await the results

Will you be sharing this archive via a torrent or anything after its completed? Its a nightmare finding Josh's vidya stream archives.
Did find a YT playlist with his game streams, only ones missing are the ones OP is looking for. I'm thinking the videos are actually real lost media and there's a higher chance of getting Josh to replay the game then finding an archive.

Bad At Video Games playlist YT
