This is actually an interesting point, these applications could get abused. Although would they really be so obsessed as to check every single IP to check for Froot disrespect? Also, I would assume jannies get all of these benefits already, and they're genuinely the only people who would outwardly defend Froot, the rest have criticised him at one point or another.

If users actually care about having these passes, they will then have incentive to make posts that appeal to jannies rather than to rest of the user base. If the jannies really do get petty and start denying applications "because you posted a heggin variant i hate", I could see this doing harm to the site.

Given how pathetic the sharty's administration has been with all the discord leaks, in-fighting, outsider infiltration, and being swamped with literal children as users (and presumably jannies too), I wouldn't put it past them to somehow use this for stupid power influence on "dying slopjak blogpost + TriHard dox/gore raids" site.

The latter should never have access to user information. The former has to have access to that information. Even then, the account for the webmaster shouldn't have that information in case its ever compromised.

The sharty has had user IPs leaked in the past (when Red did it during the Doll administration), and I recall Doll saying he was going to anonymize IPs from then on (no source on that, would like if someone could back me up or debunk me). I don't know why now having your IP leaked is something that you should get only when the frootcord approves of it when the site has had a history with this sort of problem.

the site has only degraded in quality and usability for years. The types of people who still use the sharty in current year are okay with the sharty enforcing LAN intrusion into the browser, browser/IP/hardware fingerprinting from NuDev with his "super bans", the site being constantly behind hCaptcha just to view, and the administration being literal pedo-sadists who love seeing images of dead nigger babies. The bar is literally in hell for admin behavior, and still underage nuteens are willing to use a shittier 4chan knock off with zero culture, more data mining, and greater amounts of downtime.

A paid-pass would be controversial, but at least justifiable for funding development, paying jannies, and improving the site (maybe, if froot didn't just pocket 100% of the money). The sharty's administration has done things that are objectively worse than a paid pass could ever be and still retain users. A paid pass would at least be an improvement in concept even if they gave it the usual shartyfail implementation.

I don't know their tech stack but if someone's autistic enough they can correlate any post with an IP logged on the server software (e.g. nginx, Apache)
