Yeah. The horror might be too much for some people. I just find the whole thing fascinating in a morbid way.
I will clarify one thing. There are people around Josh enabling him because he chooses to be around them. Most people in his life have tried to get him to quit drinking and he has responded by quitting them off. He avoids going home to his grandparents and splurges on hotels because they want him to slow down his drinking. He stopped associating with Quinn when he tried to get him to slow down drinking (not that I think Quinn had Joshs best interests at heart, moreso, Josh's uncontrollable drinking made him difficult to control). He does have people that care about him but he associates with people like Mr Based out of his own choice because he wants to continue drinking. Mr Based is a scum bag in the worst possible way but Josh is the one ultimately in control. He has shown that by constantly bailing in Mr Based.
I don't think Josh is a case like Larson where he is clearly fucked with no chance of ever living a normal life. If he was made get a job instead of TikTok he would probably be a normal enough guy relative to his autism. His desire to case the Instagram lifestyle was his undoing.
As interesting as this car crash is I would be very happy if he recognised the error of his ways and got better.

In his earlier stuff he appears to be of at least normal intelligence. It was his choice to pickle his brain, much as Nick Rekieta did. Mr. Based is a genuinely disgusting piece of shit taking advantage of him, but again, like another lolcow, Chris-Chan, Josh refused all advice from people who had good intentions for him and decided to choose the counsel of bloodsucking vampires like Based.
It's pretty fucked he nearly ended up turning himself into a crispy critter and suggests this story may come to a grim conclusion at any time.

I think the biggest issue is he essentially went from a minor to famous with no pause for consequences or drive to have a job, something with responsibility. He really is perpetually a kid because his life has been fairly easy, especially given his fame and money. Didn't he grow up in a decently well off family, too?
Every teen has a few milestones to go through. Learning to deal with bullying, first job, losing/quitting that job, first girlfriend, prom, first car, graduation, applying for college/first serious job, finding a more serious relationship, dealing with rejections from both work and life, etc etc.
I don't think he's successfully done any of these, has he? He never paid for his own car I don't think, never had to deal with a junker, a job, never quite learned how to handle bullying, etc.
Many cows fail a lot of these, and some go through them all and still somehow fail (like Cobes) I think a lot of the misplaced sympathy is towards how young he started out mixed with autism, but lets remember, Chris Chan was just in highschool when he got famous. So did many, many other cows that essentially grew out of it.

Joshua Block has become another casualty of the "internet fame, no matter the cost" part of gen Z. I think he thinks TikTok fame is all he has going for him in his life, and the people around him know it and exploit that for their own clout.
