The video in question

Logitech has an idea for a “forever mouse” that requires a subscription

Exec says mouse that requires a regular fee for software updates is possible.
I've had one of those "forever scooters" subscription models. Would not advice.
* You end up paying more on the subscription than on a device
* The thing would break often, and the replacement models were always broken, used and in poor state
* Process was send it back > wait to be assesed/repaired > get a new one, taking upwards to 1 month
* Support was blabbering pajeets who could barely work together an English sentence
Not worth the hassle

I mean that's pretty much the norm for EVERY support these days. It's either pajeets or chinks. Depending on how big the company is, you could play the phone hang-up game and re-dial in hopes to get an american, kinda like rolling a dice, but now it's not even worth it because you always wind up with snake-eyes since the game is completely rigged against everyone.

I'm stupid. And maybe Louis is mixing up Australia and New Zealand. But is this a reference to Kiwi Farms ?

Link should go the correct time stamp, if not it's about 3 minutes in. He mentions "archive.org and Australia government websites"
Again I'm dumb maybe there are actual AU sites that archive stuff (:_(
He's talking about a recent video involving a company called Deep Cycle Systems that silently fucked with their warranty policy. It wasn't archived by the Wayback Machine (they probably blocked it) but the National Library of Australia has their own Wayback Machine-like service called Trove that Louis used to demonstrate the fuckery.
Wikipedo has a pretty good article on it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Web_Archive and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trove

They can fuck right off, my Logitech G5 has been running strong for nearly 20 years and until the plastic is worn through I'm not gonna replace it.
fwiw it seems that's what they were actually talking about, instead of selling you a new mouse over and over they sell you software features or replacements (which would probably be cheaper). they could start by not hiding the screws behind the fucking pads so you can at least properly clean and service that shit.

however with clown world it will still be a new model every years with software features locked behind a subscription or something.

So today I went to cancel my gym membership at a place that is notorious for pulling the shit Louis talks about here:

They did try the same stupid games that's talked about in this very video, but since I still have close access to the "home gym location" by some miracle (I moved as well, just like the example in the video) it was relatively painless, but yes they were going the direction of either "go to your home gym" or "send in a written letter." Absolutely disgusted to hear they wanted to do this, but made me happy to leave them. Currently looking for a good local solution with no cancellation policy like this.

While I certainly enjoyed Louis' repair videos, I think these newer videos where he goes after companies with blatant anti-customer practices are extremely helpful and educational for me, more so than the MacBook repairs. I know he's always done videos like this, but since he doesn't really do the repair videos anymore, we get way more of these in their place. I had a whole plan ready just in case the gym tried to pull this shit in a way I couldn't deal with normally because of learning from him ranting and raging at LA Fitness/ABC Fitness and others like them.

His channel is one of my favorite subscriptions. His raging 'tism is the best kind.

Very cool, Uber Corporation!
He's right, Uber doesn't give a fuck about anyone but themselves

If you're a driver, using their app is garbage. It functions, but they keep removing useful stuff and adding in "features" nobody fucking asked for. That's ontop of their GPS map being inconsistent and inaccurate at times.
