Maybe I am just old fashioned, but I think that songs used at campaign rallies should have a minimal use of "fuck," "bitch," or "nigga." I thought the use of "whore" in the fifth verse of the Star Bangled Banner is why the full song is never sung.
I dunno. I've always thought, since the shooting, that Trump should blast 'Hit 'em up' at his rallies

Preacher intonation and cadence. This is something I think a huge number of suburban white women will totally go for. They want to go to a black church for the vibes but feel like they'd be appropriating something. They want to feel like they were at an MLK speech. Picking this kind of candidate for 2024 would have been a good move. I expect by 2028 the fads will have moved on a bit.
Cultural appropriation never stopped Kamala so why would it stop anyone else?

I want to opt out of Social Security and not pay those taxes.
A long time ago I imagined up an idea where each year when you do your taxes or when hired somewhere, you got to divvy up where you tax dollars go. A certain percent still required, I will just say 30% of your total pay will go to taxes but within that 30% you could say you prefer 10% of that total tax taken to go to infrastructure, 5% to national defense, 10% to SSI, 5% medicare, 30% to civil defense (police etc) and 40% to local programs like libraries and workforce stuff. Almost like ranked choice voting- you get some freedom to decide where the mandatory tax dollars actually go. In practice I doubt it would work and there would need to be mandatory minimums for each/certain categories, but if Id rather more of my tax go to community projects vs funding the military I could adjust that some. I feel like it would give more power to the citizens in how the country runs, moreso than voting would. If everyone decided to pay the minimum into SSI then the people have decided they dont want that program- or opt out of the tax that funds things like 'too big to fail' bailouts. I dont know exactly how youd categorize all the tax funded govt programs but I feel like there is some potential there if someone smarter than me could work it out. Of course not everyone is going to think critically about it and the 'default distribution' could still be an option, that default being what tax structure the politicians voted into office conjour up. I will accept my trashcans gracefully

Shapiro is only getting picked because PA is must-win. Not because of his policies or his charisma. Kamala probably couldn't pick him out of a lineup.
Considering that he controls the state's cheating apparatus, he could basically demand whatever he wanted. The VP spot is a big big get. Harris must be desperate for PA and for Jew money.

Sounds great until you visit a country that doesn't have a basic safety net like SS for their seniors. Old people begging on the streets until they starve to death, people just stepping over the corpses on the sidewalk like it's an everyday thing. Vietnam is like that and in nicer areas too. Everyone thinks they'd be fine until they aren't.

Maya Rudolph To Play Kamala Harris On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Through 2024 Presidential Election

EXCLUSIVE: “Mamala” is getting back to work, as Maya Rudolph will reprise her Emmy-winning role as Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live this fall as the NBC late-night comedy program covers the final stretch of the 2024 Presidential campaign.

Rudolph’s impersonation of Harris has been so popular, the moment the Vice President emerged as the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out on July 21, fans had been urging her to clear her schedule for an SNL return. And she has.

Deadline has learned that pre-production on Season 3 of Rudolph’s Apple TV+ comedy series Loot, which was scheduled to begin filming August 26, has been paused. According to sources, the cast and crew of the comedy series, which Rudolph headlines and executive produces, were told earlier this week that production has been pushed for scheduling reasons.

Loot is produced by NBC sibling Universal Television, which also produces Saturday Night Live alongside Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, making production schedules easier to sync up.

The upcoming milestone 50th season of SNL is set to premiere September 28.

SNL previously employed a similar stunt-casting strategy in the lead-up to the 2020 Presidential election with Jim Carrey and Rudolph playing Joe Biden and Harris from the start of the TV season in early October through December. Carrey relocated to New York, where SNL is based, for the duration.

Rudolph’s participation is expected to follow a similar trajectory — we hear Loot, which shoots in Los Angeles, is slated to begin production on Season 3 in January.

Rudolph’s Harris became an instant breakout (and a popular meme) when she was introduced in the cold open for the December 21, 2019 episode of SNL hosted by Eddie Murphy. Despite having a few lines in a star-studded Presidential debate cold open (you can watch it below), Rudolph won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2020 her portrayal. The “Funt” aka America’s Fun Aunt is back.

Following the 2020 election, Rudolph has reprised her role as Harris a handful of times including during her March 2021 hosting stint, which earned her another Guest Actress In a Comedy Series Emmy.

Rudolph is currently nominated for four Emmys, including a Lead Actress In a Comedy Series for Loot and Guest Actress In a Comedy Series for her latest outing as SNL host this past season.

An SNL spokesperson did not return calls for comment.

Ok, and? It's not my fault that their lives are shit, and I don't see why my labor should be forced from me to provide for them.

have you tried sending them back images of horrible things?
I did this in 2020. Most of the responses were pretty amusing, but one made me feel bad and I stopped.

Basically, the person explained that this was just a gig for them, they only did it because COVID wrecked their real job, and they were upset by the abuse that other people and I sent. I apologized and decided that I didn't want to bother low-level henchmen anymore.

I'm getting old.

Inshallah once the Boomers finally die maybe we can stop obsessing over 1960's Civil Rights/Anti-Vietnam Era fetishism and recognize that decade as a general disaster for the country
There are many reasons we spent the 70's in a drug-induced haze and then elected Republicans for 12 years

If you want to subject you and your family to people literally starving to death on the street everywhere you go and having to navigate around corpses on the sidewalk then you do you I guess. I'd rather not and am willing to fund a basic safety net to prevent that.

Fuck that. Send them pictures of Landon Hiscock's spiderjaw genitalia and confront them on exactly who's 'weird.'

I admit that, in my older age, I do not have the same fire that I used to.

At a certain point, you learn to ask an age-old question: do I have to deal with this, or will the universe fix this problem for me?

Personally, I do not believe that Kamala Harris will win the election. I could be wrong. However, if she loses as I suspect that she will, that will be more than enough of a "hahaha fuck you" for this old lump of coal.

Then you ought to pay for it yourself. Donate to charities or churches, provide for your parents yourself. I don't see a single argument, beyond crude emotionalism, that this kind of program is something that should be foisted on the younger generations.

It isn't my fault that Boomers squandered their opportunity, that they were the grasshoppers frittering their life away.

So what the 50s was to the boomers becomes the 60s to everyone else?
