are you sure you aren't thinking of Raven's Cry? i never saw anything from the Ride to Hell devs but I know that the Raven's Cry devs talked shit. but then they re-released the game and supposedly fixed many of the myriad bugs so at least there was sort of a redemption arc.
i would argue that you should assume everyone in a stream chat is trying to get a rise out of the livestreamer in some way that entertains them, the only thing keeping them from really letting loose is there's no point in doing so unless they know it's going to be acknowledged. as soon as a free-for-all for attention starts, they'll be laughing at the streamer rather than with them and all trying to one-up each other on farming reactions.

The video left a lot to be desired but I appreciate that it came out when it did. Every review I saw of it was positive and the only negativity I saw was in a thread on rpgcodex, so I almost threw money at that turd. As a big fan of Elder Scrolls 3 and 4 in particular, the idea of an indie dev making their own version of Morrowind that could potentially iron out all the issues that game has without having to bend to the whims of investors was almost like a dream come true.
