There are a lot of people who seem to think that retail employees should provide free babysitting. I used to go to the mall by me a lot as a teen Petronella, and it was very common for moms to just leave their kids in a store (often without even telling anyone) and go wander off, only to get snippy with the employees for not watching their kid if the kid would get into stuff or become upset at realizing their mom was gone.
