That's how elections are won nowadays. Multiple studies show that in everything from local elections to the presidency, you win by getting people to hate the other person more. It's how Joe won so many votes in 2020 despite being one of the worst candidates ever.
How was this question asked? I agree the First Amendment has gone too far if according to the courts, it's supposed to protect the right to teach gender ideology and critical race theory to school children or permit half naked drag queens to perform in front of children.
FIRE is very much in line with the ACLU when it comes to things like restricting perverse troon books like Gender Queer to those over 18 or mandates against critical race theory training.

I believe that they tried very hard to sell the idea that the American people wanted a serious and dignified person in office. They also tried hard to sell the idea that Trump was a criminal removed from office with the impeachments and constant talk of locking him up, and they tried to hide Hunter Biden's laptop and claim that was Russian disinfo. They also tried hard to sabotage Trump's records by the summer of arson (where the west coast was on fire, they blamed global warming, but vandals kept getting caught lighting it on fire), the BLM riots that made people afraid to go outside at night in towns, and the way the blue states kept insisting on locking down and damaging the economy. Despite all that, Trump still won the election and they needed to cheat and flip 5-7 states to win.
