We used to have this neat little 1 man tool. It had a split blade that you slip into the doorframe. Pump the handle 2 or 3 times and it would neatly pop open any entry door short of a bank vault in seconds. With no debris and no minimal damage to the door.
I was taught to do it with a Halligan bar.

Yeah me too. But then we discovered these things. Perfection.

I imagine even with this kind of door jack in inventory police would still have halligan bars for the same reason that firefighters do such as the building being on fire or other such obvious emergencies.

If I were a cop local to Rekieta who had the dope on the situation I'd choose the halligan bar.

1) My original statement was "violent intrusion". You stated that was "a bit much". I added the "off its hinges" statement after (I guess that was when I moved the goalpost?), which I am happy to concede was erroneous. Your response to that was to vomit videos and an essay into the thread, with the statement that it was simultaneously weakly violent and not violent, which logically are mutually exclusive positions. If you have enough time to write an essay, make sure it is logically consistent.
2) You're bringing in ethics? Who's moving goalposts now?
3) At this point, I will blame you.
I'm torn between "herp-de-derp" and a Lucille Bluth reaction gif. I'll refrain.

I don't think they used something like a battering ram, but instead used some more specialized method of opening a normal front door, like a bar.
They didn't actually ram it. They used some other sort of device.
From complaints (MCRO_34-CR-24-342_E-filed Comp-Order for Detention_2024-05-24_20240525141113 is one):
"Law enforcement entered the home utilizing a door ram."

And
The gizmo I linked a few posts up is a "Hydraulic Door Ram". Or "Hydraulic Forceable Entry Ram". In emergency services any straight line Hydraulic tool is a "ram".

Exactly. I might or might not have included a hydraulic in my linked videos - I know I considered it but might have removed bc the person I was replying to said "battering ram," and I try to meet people where they are and allow them the most possible leeway/ opportunity not to be wrong and retarded.

In any case: nothing was likely "off the hinges." Most breach efforts don't involve blowing a hole in the front wall of a home or similar. Therefore, hysterics over the "violence" of this forced entry are hysterical.

I’m not. Nick’s hubris far outweighs even his laziness. Plus he thinks he’s slick and has probably been doing some creative accounting over the years and would be hesitant to expose that to a professional.
I guess it makes it a lot easier for him to hide those massive drug expenditures. I was wondering how he was doing that, but if there's no accountant looking over his shoulder then...

No. It's just Occam's Razor. The cops aren't going to go full The Raid and blow the door off the hinges with plastique over something like this.
Oh, I wasn’t saying they blew anything off. I just wondered how we knew that they quietly picked the lock and the kids were chill.

I think he's the quintessential "nice guy". He wants everyone to do what he wants, but doesn't want to them what to do because then he dreads being the "bad guy". He'll do anything to make sure that it was the other person's idea to do it so he never has to be the bad guy. I remember him saying "I never stop being friends with people, they stop being friends with me".
No offense, but this is inaccurate. Nick hasn’t given “nice guy” vibes in years.

Remember that Nick’s idea of being “friends” includes him talking shit about you online (ask Eric July and others). What Nick does is that he acts like his asshole self until the other person cuts him off. Then he plays dumb, shrugs, and says “I didn’t stop being friends with THEM! But okay…I guess?” with that stupid look on his face.

Just some information re: the crowdfund.

1. The funds are still being held.
View attachment 6264777

2. I've received $5242.36 from the crowdfund. They hold some for chargeback protection for 90 days. They also pay card processor fees upfront from it. They will pay the rest after the 90 days. The difference between the $5242.39 and $6785.78 numbers are actual money that belongs to the LLC which is received from mail in money orders and used to afford server expenses.

3. If the footage is released at no cost to me or at a lower cost than expected, I will donate the remainder.

"If there are significant excess funds, or if our request is denied and no participants consent to having the footage released, the money will be donated to an appropriate charity at my sole discretion (but I will probably run a poll first)."

My current thought re: charity is local Kandiyohi County animal shelter.

If you're curious about the consent issue, you should read the crowdfund page. I explicitly mention that consent might be required of the state is being slow or obtuse.

Could we not find someone in the area (the church?) who could use the funds to help his children? This is me being sentimental, but I feel bad for the children...

I appreciate the update, regardless of the decision.

Those types of men are not treating their girlfriends and wives well. Given that Kayla was violent towards him, I would be surprised if the violence was not by both
I highly recommend reading about compliant wives and girlfriends in Dark Dreams by Roy Hazelwood — the grandfather of profiling sexual predators and murderers. The book is not for the squeamish, and the section on compliant partners of sex fiends was like reading about Kayla and April. It includes what read like a description of Nick’s playbook with hinting more and more strongly that if the wife doesn’t want the same sexual adventures that he does, well, that’s not a marriage at all. (Until yesterday I hadn’t seen the old clip of Nick saying point-blank “Lady Rackets isn’t as far down the road as I am on the sex stuff…” as if he was impatiently waiting for her to stop being a stick in the mud.)
