Well, I am a simp I guess. I just really like it when a film embraces being silly like that (Again, I can laugh at SP, not so much at Barbie).

there is a big difference between hardcore punk and the soft lame pop punk that is seen as rebellious despite only talking about hating suburbs and the patiarchy.
 
Having a giant safety net/trust fund.
Essentially, if you can always move back in with mum or she gives you a check every month to sit on your ass, there's very minimal growth and hardships you can go through that will humble you and make you less dependent on others, which is kind of the main distinction between men and boys.

All punk rock is brainlet nonsense made by people who think they can institute systemic change by making unlistenable music, not realizing that they would get absolutely gulag'd if their home country was just 1% as fascist as they claim it is.

A soyboy never was a man in the first place. Xe went straight from teen to 'jak.
 
  1. Lack of male role models. Young men around 14-17 start to look for cultural purpose, and which group they fit into. Due to a lack of traditional male role models, many young men get funneled into groups. One of these being the "soy" archetype. Marvel/Star-Wars youtubers who collect funko and rave about fandom. Fandom is a replacement for spirituality and community in the modern day.

  2. Lack of Physical Education/Sports growing up. Boys who are not put into sports programs or athletic endeavors do not understand their inner strength and body's capabilities. This allows them to take on a weaker presence socially, and be submissive without resistance. They also do not understand what to use their testosterone for, and reject it, or just coom out like crazy.

  3. As others have stated, a twisted way to express masculinity. Men, at their core, desire power. This could be power over yourself, or others. Non masculine men, who lack physical prowess or attraction knowledge, use beta-masculinity to subvert the forward-facing courting process and infiltrate women spaces. This is the only way for them to procreate, and put their form of power to use. I do not believe all "soys" are beta-male predators, but it is a natural end state for someone who cannot court normally.

Absolute lack of aesthetic sense. I mean, one can only change their phenotype up to certain extent - but how can they think, that finding role models in other soyjaks, growing an ugly beard and making that infamous open-mouthed expression will make them look like the absolute best version of themselves AND attracts more people to click their stupid video?
