I think part of it is also seething women in their 30's who are angry that men date younger.
The crabs in a bucket mentality is not just a part, but a big part I think. 30+ unmarried past-their-prime women cope by becoming "journalists" and writing shaming articles about men who date younger. The whole "we must protect young women from older male predators" is just a smokescreen to cover the reality which is "As an older woman, I am jealous of these young bitches stealing the men I am entitled to"
Don't forget that these issues with age gaps only apply when it either benefits her specifically, or doesn't affect her at all, and can be disregarded otherwise.
If other women are dating an older man, then clearly the man is a pedophile/predator who's taking advantage of them. But if she's the one dating an older man? Then she just wants a established man who can provide for her, and doesn't want to deal with the broke and/or irresponsible men her age.
We all know that "power dynamics" is one of the big things driving the feminist agenda and talking points. So alright, let's use their logic.
Older men tend to be more financially stable and have more cash and assets than younger men and generally speaking, financial stability and abundant resources attract women of all ages. But it is this very same financial stability that gives older men a power advantage over women which may give rise to "financial abuse." Therefore using the feminist "power dynamic" logic, any relationship in which the man has significantly more money than the woman has a signicant power imbalance and should be avoided because there is a potential that the man will use this as a weapon against his woman.
So how about it women? Stop dating men who have incomes not more than say 10% your own? If as a woman your income is $50000 per year, you can only date men who's income is between $55000 and $0. If your income is $250000, you can only date men $275000 to $0.
Mentally ill homeless men with no jobs/income is a marginalized community and I think female CEOs should consider husbanding them up.
