Came across a video talking about a VRChat user that goes by Ericirno. He is apparently known for recreating the Kmart department store in the game and also for being a creep.
Oh boy finally I've been waiting for someone to make a thread like this.
4chan's VRChat group (VRG) is filled to the brim with Schizos, Trannies, 30 year olds reliving their Highschool years.
There is so much hilarious shit in the Trash Thread on a daily basis, constant meltdowns, drama, infighting and so much more, I highly recommend people to dig through the threads, and even better they archive each thread too.
Basically he is this 30 year old guy who started playing VRChat a few years back.
He runs an instance called "Tipsy Tuesday" where everyone on Tuesday nights get wasted and have "sex" (mutual masturbation) with each other in anime avatars.
From what I can tell, his wife left him of something like 5 to 10 years because he wouldn't stop playing this game and would rather talk to people in it than his own wife and now he is dating some guy from this community.
There are so many more colorful characters like him.
I think the most interesting one is this guy called "Kuiwa"
Apparently he used to be quite normal, but went down the rabbit hole of masturbating and getting high, constantly "gooning" to the point where he had a schizophrenia attack on the way back from an IRL meetup they had (yes....it's exactly what it sounds like), and ending up getting himself locked up in another countries asylum for 3 months.
Then a few months ago, he was gooning on stream and was so loud that his roommates could hear it, ended up with him getting a noise complaint and being locked up in another asylum that he somehow managed to escape from and went straight back to getting high and masturbating in VRChat on stream.
Jeez. I passed through /vrg/ maybe 5 years ago when I was real into Beat Saber and GTFO'd soon after, since was obvious even then that it was made up of trannies who eat, sleep, and live VRChat. Guess I can't say I'm totally shocked reading any of this. It's funny to recognize names though.

VRChat several years ago implemented a feature where users could write a short bio on their profile for others to read. Naturally, this has made it so you can spot a mental trainwreck without even having to engage them in a conversation. The best (worst) part is that you don't even need to go out of your way to find ones that stand out.
Thus, I'd like to present to you some cherry-picked profiles in a segment which I'd like to call...

So many people needing spiritual help, and refusing it. "Love yourself before you love someone else" took me by surprise. Really sounds like something Aleister Crowley would say. "Do whatever you want, and remember to always praise yourself, love yourself however you are". Very satanic, for a lack of a better word. Now imagine if an open Christian were to join - didn't preach, but also didn't go along with the degeneracy. Remains to be seen if he would be "accepted".
I spent a bit in VRChat trying to answer a few morbid questions that I had in mind while browsing this thread. I think this information may be useful for understanding how widespread the NSFW problem is in the game, and the lengths people will got to just to get off to virtual characters.
I'd like to preference this by saying that you should not do what I did here. The reason why is because it might constitute as a rule break. But that's up for the mods and Null to decide if what I'm doing is breaking the rules. Not only that, this is based on a personal experiment, and may not be 100% accurate to reality. I'm also not someone who plays VRChat at all, so this is my first time doing something like this. It took me days to realize that there's a wheel for emoting and other stuff. With that being said, I'll lay down everything that I have thus far.
The Experiment The experiment is quite simple: How easy is it for a user to end up down the rabbit hole of NSFW VRChat? The way that I conducted this experiment is by starting a fresh account, and seeing how long it takes me to not only obtain Suggestive and/or NSFW avatars, but to end up in spaces that are considered NSFW. Or at the very least, end up with a group of people who engage with such content. Going into this, I asked myself, how easy is it for someone who is new to VRChat to:
Obtain suggestive avatars?
Obtain NSFW avatars?
End up in adult / sexually suggestive worlds (worlds that are clearly catered to adults, and have rules in place that explicitly mention that the place is meant for adults)?
Finding people who engage in erotic roleplaying?
And to top this all off, I wanted to get a clear picture of how these people operate on a mental level. I'm no psychologist, and I'm not smart either. But it is fairly easy to read the patterns of behavior these people exhibit.
Shockingly: It's dead easy to get yourself into these circles. It doesn't even require searching. Just be in the right places. It took 10 minutes to find sexually suggestive avatars, and an hour to find an NSFW avatar. VRChat is also filled with tons of unmoderated Worlds / Instances that completely allow children to roam around and do whatever they please.
VRChat was a mistake.
1. Obtaining Suggestive & NSFW Avatars The first thing I wanted to do was to find out how quickly can I get these avatars without any additional help. I didn't search up anything beforehand, I simply used the in-game world search feature. And I'm going to be honest with you, it is surprisingly quick. But before I begin saying anything about that, I'll start off by discerning the difference between a sexually suggestive avatar, and an NSFW avatar.
A sexually suggestive avatar is one that is inherently promiscuous in nature, but does not have explicit features for showing off genitalia. Which means that these avatars are considered sexual by nature, but does not contain nudity or any feature for sex. For example, these avatars tend to look very busty and contain jiggle bones that other players can interact with. They also tend to wear clothing that's typically promiscuous. Like a bikini, or thigh highs. It can also contain features such as body scaling or swapping.
An NSFW avatar features the same characteristics as a sexually suggestive avatar, but it takes the concept a step further. It usually includes the ability to allow for full body nudity. Some avatars are simple: they allow you to remove clothing, enable nudity (vaginas and penises), trigger specialized particles (to my knowledge, most don't do this), or enable other features. These ones can actually be seen publicly, but they tend to hide it very well for the simple reason of not allowing people to report the avatar. A prime example of these avatars would be the genderbent Five Nights at Freddy's (or simply known as "Five Nights in Anime", or FNIA for short) avatars, as they tend to have body parts that can be toggled. For more information regarding FNIA and other FNAF off chutes, @Alien Farmer made this excellent thread discussing the topic.
While these two categories have similarities, there are a few characteristic differences between the two. But both are used for the same reason: To pretend to be something that the user is not, and to jerk off. With all this being said, what are the results?
Results
Within the first 10 minutes of looking around casually, I stumbled upon this world that contained sexually suggestive avatars. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but it did not take long at all. What did here was simple: I went to the "Avatar Worlds - Trending" tab in VRChat, and saw "Cheesy's FNIA Avis". I joined it, and was greeted by a shelf of avatars. What makes it even worse was the NSFW avatars I encountered too, with children clearly being present. Though, I believe the two people with the NSFW avatars are teens as well.
Now there are other worlds that do exist which have avatars that can be classified as "promiscuous" (such as Taigas Avi Hub, The Oasis Avatar World, and Mr. Lmao's Avatars), but the fact that the world's thumbnail is obviously cropped porn, alongside with people having NSFW avatars as soon as you enter, really puts this whole issue into perspective. It is laughably easy for anyone to obtain these avatars.
As for NSFW avatars, it took roughly an hour or two to obtain. However, it is much harder to obtain by normal means. You have to actively go out of your way to interact with other users who have these NSFW avatars in order to obtain them. Sometimes they have their cloning on, but on others you may have to hangout & ask these freaks for a copy. From what information that I was able to gather, they tend to congregate in places similar to the FNIA-related worlds, but also bars & watch parties. Below is one of the avatars I managed to find. For me, I managed to obtain it via cloning from the "Sunset Bar". Because some people on this platform are reckless or uncaring about who clones their avatars.
Now, to the credit of these freaks, they tend to be very stingy about people wanting their avatar. And it takes way longer to find an NSFW avatar than it does a sexually suggestive one. However, there was someone that I came across throughout this experiment stated that he found his avatar within a similar approximation. He said that he was able to obtain an NSFW avatar within the first hour of creating his new account. How he obtained it? Unfortunately, I never got the chance to ask. But I assume it was either through asking, or doing what I did. And his intentions were much more obvious.
So, to make an educated guess, obtaining these types of avatars are relatively easy. Both do require active searching, but one is much more blatant and easier to get. The fact that it took me less than 10 minutes to obtain a sexually suggestive avatar should be enough to raise some red flags.
2. Joining Adult-Oriented Spaces, and the Enforcement of Rules I will work on this once I'm awake, and when I have enough time...
Many sexually suggestive or adult oriented worlds in VRChat are properly tagged as such. If you scroll down below the details of a game, you'll be able to see the "Content Warning" tags. Though, this is only visible if you scroll halfway down from the join button. Regardless, it is very clear that VRChat is at least aware of the content made on the platform. And I assume people under the age of 18 are not allowed inside. The only issue with this problem is that kids lie about their age. If you're someone who's been on the internet for as long as I've been, you'd know that kids tend to do this so they can access places they shouldn't.
Now, I'm not going to rag on the VRChat team, they've done something pretty decent with this feature. This is actually fairly useful, but unfortunately, kids usually lie to get what they want. Even in the case of Roblox, they tend to just grab their parents IDs to verify for Voice Chat. So it's typically up to the Instance owner and the creator of the world to enforce rules. In the same place above, they have these set of rules.
"Wait... hold the fuck up. What's an instance?"
Instances act as personally hosted version of the place. Think of a Garry's Mod server you start up on your own for your friends to join. Except, you can make it either Public (anyone can join), Invite Only (only people you invite can join), or Friends Only (people who you're friends with can join). The ones I'll be focusing on is the public instances. Either you, the player, can host the server, or a group can host it. I'll be focusing on groups for the duration of this segment, but everything I say can be applied to individually hosted public instances.
With that all being said... a question comes to mind. Do the people who host these NSFW instances actually moderate their own servers? The answer, 9 times out of 10, is No. In your typical instance, unless the kid is directly bothering the host (or people want the kid kicked), they usually roam unabated. Take these screenshots I took while lurking in this exact place, for example. All the people in this screenshot are ages 13-17, and Emmett (the person with the lewd avatar) states that he's only 14 years old in his bio, only recently turning that age in February.
Now, in the defense of these types of place, anyone can host their own instance. Which makes this impossible to really moderate this type of stuff. So it's hard to really blame the owner / creator. However, the server I was in was hosted by a group that specifically disallows minors. At the very least the host could've closed the instance after leaving, or anything. But instead kids such as Emmett hang around with avatars they shouldn't have, and in places they shouldn't be. This lack of moderation to prevent younger users from joining leads to the aforementioned issues of grooming and pedophilia.
However, there is a silver lining to all of this. There are some, not a whole but, but some instances that try to verify people's ages. Though their methods are very limited, they at least try to enforce the idea of the world being meant for adults. This happens in much more populated games like the Sunset Bar or Midnight Bar, and even in places like the one I just posted. Unfortunately, because their methodology is limited (only asking for age, you don't even need a microphone to verify it), it's only a small roadblock for these children. Which begs the question: if moderating these types of places is physically impossible, why the hell do they allow it in the first place?
Because fucking horny people, that's why.
"Couldn't VRChat just implement an ID system then? Where it requires a registered government ID?"
More than likely they will not do this. These types of companies aren't willing to do that if it means they don't deal with the potential backlash of their systems blowing up in their face. Now you might think it's because they respect your privacy, but I don't really believe that. The most likely case is that they won't do anything until public opinion of VRChat is at its all time lowest.
Results Unless the child is completely honest about their age, it's still relatively easy to access these types of games. To the point where children BARELY reaching into puberty are wearing NSFW avatars. Even with rules & regulations being enforced by the people of these Instances, it leads a lot to be desired. And I think the ultimate solution is to either lean into being "Second Life 2.0", or remove adult content entirely.
3. Erotic Roleplaying (a.k.a. The Reason Why You Should Pray To God To Stop This Madness) With all these problems with moderation, and the ease of access to NSFW character models, it's no surprise that ERPing has become a staple of VRChat. To the point where people exclusively spend their time on VRChat trying to find people to (virtually) fuck. Most of these people are touch starved, and very easy succumb to their sexual nature. They're so addicted to this habit that it makes you wonder if these people even check the ages of those they ERP with, or if this is just another form of masturbation.
Regardless, we're not here to talk about the philosophical implications of being addicted to VR porn. What I want to know is how easy it is to get into a session with people who ERP. Unlike the other two questions, this requires you to go out and interact with people. And fortunately for me, I want to keep my sanity. So this was a question that required me to ask people around about it, rather than trying to get myself into a compromised position. I asked roughly 12 people about the ease of access to these sessions. While it varies, it all depends on everything that was mentioned before:
Having the right avatar.
Being in the right places (usually unmoderated bars or "clubs").
Talking to the right people.
And according to one account, it's relatively easy so as long as you signal it to the person you're flirting with that you want to "do it" in a Private Instance. The others also testified to this claim. I couldn't receive any photographic proof of this happening, so I'll take their word for it. But judging by the fact that there's VRChat porn, tons of places that promote promiscuity, avatars that are generally lewd and sexual by nature, and the fact that people are so open about it, I'll take the words of this small group of strangers I talked to.
There is one story that stuck out like a sore thumb, however. This person states that some people are so addicted to ERPing that they're willing to do it in Public Instances that prohibits NSFW activities & avatars. The story describes a bunch of people with a nude furry avatar on top of a person. They all had their boobs and animal cocks out, according to the individual. And this all took place in a Public Instance. Whether this story remains true or not is a mystery to me. So take it with a grain of salt.

Not extremely conclusive as before, but there's definitely some ease of access to erotic roleplay based on what I've talked about before. However, I'm not going to sacrifice my sanity to find proof of this. All I can do is base it off the words of other people. Whether or not you believe it is up to you, but it isn't far off from reality.
4. Conclusion & Some Final Words Although this is just a short investigative post that helps satisfy my morbid curiosity, it is worth noting that a lot of the stuff seen here is so easy to access that any of you can do it right now if you please to do so. And this ONLY the tip of the iceberg I feel. I haven't even mentioned some of the worst findings yet. I'm saving that one for when it's ready.
Regardless, the answer's clear: The NSFW side of VRChat is dead easy to get yourself into. If you are a fresh new account, it can take you no more than 5 hours to find an NSFW avatar, get into an adult space, and ERP with random strangers on the internet for quick dopamine rushes. It's honestly disgusting how easy it all is, and how it can easily get into the hands of an unsupervised child. I've known people who did the same thing when they were younger (overindulging in porn), and they end up regretting it. And worst of all: putting themselves into harm's way.
I believe VRChat should just completely remove this type of content. It's clear that it's only going to get worse, evident by the countless incidents that have taken place during and after COVID. If adults can't be trusted to keep their spaces free of children, then what's the point of keeping it?
A prime example of these avatars would be the genderbent Five Nights at Freddy's (or simply known as "Five Nights in Anime", or FNIA for short) avatars
Yeah, this shit is pervasive on VRC. I plan to talk about it a little bit in the upcoming SonicOwO section of the OP, as he's one of the freaks that's heavily involved with this subcommunity, though I think FNIA as a topic of discussion on its own would be better suited for the new FNAF thread by @Alien Farmer.
Small commentary channel Mrow has a decent video about some of the degens involved with FNIA on VRC here:

Thank you. I edited the post linking the thread. Because the topic of FNIA in of itself goes beyond the scope of what I'm trying to achieve. But I will say this: There is a consistent pattern between NSFW content on VRChat and FNIA.
I'd like to preference this by saying that you should not do what I did here. The reason why is because it might constitute as a rule break. But that's up for the mods and Null to decide if what I'm doing is breaking the rules.
I finished writing up the post for my little experiment. Hopefully it serves this thread well, and someone with better research skills than me can take what I've done and expand it further. The degeneracy of VRChat is really expansive, and I feel that it's only the tip of the iceberg.

It truly is, which is why the amount of info flowing into the thread from every possible corner of the Internet is truly overwhelming - with now there being around ~7 years of virtual fuckery to catch up with, a VRChat megathread was truly long overdue.
This person states that some people are so addicted to ERPing that they're willing to do it in Public Instances that prohibits NSFW activities & avatars.
I can confirm that this is very much a thing. The coomers in this game, after trying every possible way to spice up their ERP sessions (avatars with various effects, teledildonics integrations, etc.) continue to seek thrills in the way that could only be described as virtual exhibitionism - they'll get into a public world, preferably moderately populated, and then retreat into some nook where they won't be seen, but as close to the other users as possible to do their deed.
The coomer brain truly has no bounds in regards to decency.
Saw this video earlier, this guy is a fucking trip, and abhorrently gross. Wasn't really sure of any other thread to post this in, but this guy needed to be posted about somewhere lmfao
Focuses on a guy called "Kitsune Sel"
He's some furry advocating for rape while hanging out with kids, threatening to kill people over fuckin' VRChat, while also preaching some kind of autistic outlook on eugenics. He also uses porn avatars and ERP's with minors, in VRChat. The kids he's doing this shit with are literally like, 7 and 14 and thats just the kids spoken of in this video.
He claims he commanded "virtually the entire united states military" and they fucking cloned him. He claims to be the most "intelligent human ever born on Earth" and has been killing intelligent humans for over 140 years.
the people behind this video are kind of munted; but this dude's weird shit should definitely be noted at least.
Great stuff. I'd like to add onto the NSFW avatar section by saying that there is yet another way to get NSFW avatars.
If you go into one of the avatar lookup world (I forget the name, but it's always the most played world on VRChat) you can hit random to find avatars from all of the ones currently uploaded. I think I found one within 30 minutes (it varies a lot because it's literally a gamble).
It might be faster to find someone who already has an avatar and ask for cloning, but it goes to show even if you try to stat away from degenerate worlds and avatars, you can still stumble upon it without even meaning to.
And some events do actually check ID. The problem is most of the time, the modus operandi is sending your ID over discord, to some random ass person, and then getting greenlit by providing your VRChat name.
If you look at this, you can see some obvious fucking problems. I'm not trusting discord, to start, and I hope you would not trust the 40-year old vore fetishist to not do ANYTHING with such personal information, essentially doxing yourself.
Also, some of these get real fucking weird. I remember one being this pooltoy furry with birthing hips, with a full on interaction system to blow on the little blow up nozzle to inflate the avatar. If you pressed another button, you deflated and looked like flat stanley.
Satanic panic couldn't even imagine the depth of the modern internet.
Two things I can think of that I forgot to mention in my last glossary are also pretty notable: The Groups feature, and the Supporters and "Marketplace" system. Both have a lot of autism and drama over them.
First off, there's the group feature. The TLDR on important things to know:
-Groups are searchable on the official website, but that link won't work unless you make a vrc account and are logged in.
-You must be a VRC+ subscriber to create the group, but anyone can join it after that and the owner can add mods as they see fit.
-Groups can upload a custom banner. Anyone can choose to "represent" any group they're in and have the banner appear above their name in-game.
-Groups can make instances with a new type of "group" privacy. You can make ones that only allow members of the group, ones that will let in anyone who is a friend of someone in the instance, or make a fully public instance that has the benefit of making your group name appear in the list of public instances.
-If someone gets blocked from a group, it also prevents them from being allowed in any of the group's instances
Really though, I just wanted to show some of the borderline porn and fetish shit you can get away with broadcasting to everyone right above your nametag in-game. It doesn't take a genius to realize how easy it is to exploit this.
Another issue involves financially supporting world creators. A common method for VRC support was through services like Patreon or SubscribeStar. World creators often added a special check to see if users were on their supporter list when they connected to the world. If they did, they'd be granted some perks, such as access to a special area or some sort of cosmetic effect. The main drawback of this system is that supporters had to trust the creator to actually add their account to the whitelist in the next update for the world.
The VRC devs clearly wanted to get in on this monetization, so a few months ago, they introduced a "Marketplace" system that requires "credits" and lets world creators put things buyable in-game. The idea is that you get your perks immediately and without leaving the game.
I could spend a long time breaking down how stupid this system is, but let me just hit the big points that are taken from their official FAQ:
-$5 USD gets you 600 credits, or roughly $1 would get you 120 credits. Not exactly a clear 1:1 amount and will confuse buyers.
-Creators who cash out their credits earned get paid at a rate of $.005 per 1 credit.
-There are no discounts offered for buying the more expensive amounts of credits.
-Any creators who sign up for this only keep 50% of the revenue. The rest goes to the devs. Not even Patreon takes half that much in fees.
Remembered a funny thing that happened a while back, but I don't really feel like finding a way to fit this into the OP. Azeal is a "VRChat Storytime" YouTuber who does open-ended interviews in VRC with people who lead interesting lives and have unique / stand-out stories to tell, like bounty hunters or veterans.
Back in early 2023, Azeal did an interview with an active-duty member of the US military. This on its own isn't necessarily anything to write home about, but what occurred after this interview went public definitely is: (a) >I was threatened by the US military
Oh boy
I don't really have anything to add about this beyond pointing out that Azeal was one of the people who promoted that one Trans Academy world that punished people for thinking a 13yo and a 26yo cuddling in their world was weird, so LOL.
Really though, I just wanted to show some of the borderline porn and fetish shit you can get away with broadcasting to everyone right above your nametag in-game. It doesn't take a genius to realize how easy it is to exploit this.
