That motherfucker Lou Gehrig. This guy is a top athelete, you want me to believe he really developed a sooper rare muscle condition? Hah! Probably just wanted to get out of baseball!
Celebrities can get sick, and on top of that, a vast majority of them abuse their bodies with drugs and hard lifestyles... and then they age and get old.
Not to mention, even people with real medical conditions can still be annoying about it.
I forget who but I swear there was a muchie who wore Make A Wish merch as an adult to Disney. She said it was to show support or whatever.

Another angle: people associate Disney with Make A Wish and "once in a lifetime experiences" in general. People might question why an absurdly ill person in a power wheelchair with tubes is going to something like a music festival, but Disney is more of a "family memory" destination. People assume they want to go there to see it before they die, and I'm sure some muchies explicitly say that in order to go. They want people to assume the absurdly sick looking person is terminally ill, like a Make a Wish kid.I'm sure some people just wanted to grift for a better experience without paying, but I don't think that's why the Munchies go there.
I think it's about the exposure. People watch them as they get special treatment and maybe they even feel sorry for them. A lot of the people in this thread seem to live very small lives. Disney gives them a chance to regress and get ass pats. Most normal people would never suspect someone, with let's say a feeding tube, pretend to be ill. This is absurd if you're not used to it. I can imagine that they get a lot of compliments and encouragement from other guests. They probably even get to tell their sob story!
