- Public services: doesn't mean shit if you can afford to pay for the much better private version of them. If you can afford a nice care home for your parents, send your kids to private school, and don't have a social worker, then all the council actually does for you is empty your bins. Until they stop emptying bins, you won't give a toss.
- Transport network: outside of London where the Tube is not really optional, only the fucking poor are riding the bus. Everyone else drives. If you are going to London, you fly. You don't need to go anywhere else. If you have a job that requires touring the provincial capitals of England, you are probably middle-middle class, not upper-middle. You are probably some kind of salesman. You should employ someone to do this bit for you since fuck going to Liverpool or Birmingham for any reason whatsoever.
- Competition for housing: again, if you've got upper middle class money, this is not happening to you outside of London, because you are not shopping in the mass market section. Outside of London and the nicer bits of the south east, a million quid will comfortably give you a variety of options. Two million will make you very comfortable.
- NHS and social care: You have to stop thinking the NHS is failing because of sheer pressure. The NHS is failing by design. I part own a multisite dental practice. Fucking trust me about this. The dentists are moving quietly back into exclusively private practice simply by closing the NHS lists. As for the hospitals, the Lansley reforms were designed to make them suitable for private takeover. They have succeeded. There's been no top down reorganisation ever since, because there doesn't need to be. The effect of the systemic underfunding has been multiplied by the pandemic to the extent that the NHS simply cannot be put back on its feet. Don't expect anyone you elect to do this. It genuinely can no longer be done with taxpayer money under existing laws in any medium time frame before collapse.
A huge swathe of the upper middle class have a personal financial interest in this happening. Remember please that everyone who is involved in NHS management, or NHS management consultancy bullshit, will get paid war profiteer money to assist the conquering American megacorporations with the takeover. I will level with you; I diamond handed a seven figure offer for my side gig a year ago because if my information and expectations around the next GP contract round are correct, I will very quickly get an eight figure offer. Which I will take. I plan to buy a hobby farm and raise chickens and ducks and alpacas.
I absolutely understand the devastating effect the failure of the NHS will have on the people of this country. I will still take the money, because as an external contractor there's fuck all I can do to stop it, and also, eight fucking figures. I come from Coatbridge. I couldn't even have dealt heroin for that kind of money.
I will name an alpaca in honour of Dear Leader.
Those people will also, same as the Americans now, be able to afford private coverage. Not at the fake prices now, which are kept artificially low by the fact your 'private' consultant refers you directly into their NHS clinic if you actually need anything done, but at the actual lolocaust prices real private healthcare will involve.
Also, forget rationing-via-waiting-list. The well off will get seen tomorrow, and the proles will still wait three years to get seen.
As for social care, see above. If you aren't poor, you don't need this provided by the state, and you don't fucking care. It just won't happen to you.
- Workers' rights etc: The entire fucking existence of the upper middle class is dependent on keeping the proles in a state of near-serfdom. You had to house your serfs, after all. Now you can also be their landlord.
It doesn't matter if you employ monkeys as long as you only have to pay peanuts. Most jobs in the vaunted 'UK services sector" are monkey jobs. The highly skilled higher working class no longer exist. Well, they do, but they exist in eastern Europe. That's why we sent en masse to Poland for their joiners and plumbers. What we raise here is a class of nursery workers, beauticians, and semi literate basic car mechanics.
You don't need to like the conclusions of Marx and Engels, but do not ever make the mistake of thinking that they were wrong in their observations about capitalism in England in the 19th century. It has not fucking changed.
- Muzzies: We don't live near them, our kids don't go to school with them. In short, not our problem. Notice how it's the economic shitholes of the north that are having riots and widespread muzzie immigration. It's not the fucking New Town of Edinburgh, is it?
As for 'what if muzzies make money', I live amongst some Jews and other white people. We do not sell our houses to these people. No one ever comes right out and says it, but the coded chat at the neighbours' festive drinks and summer gatherings is always very clear: don't sell your house to Pakis. Pakis absolutely tank the fucking house prices everywhere they go, because much like rats, once you've seen one another twenty will appear. So we protect our house prices by not selling them the fucking houses. Also, why the fuck would Jews allow Pakis near them. Living near the wealthy liberal Jews is pretty much the best guarantee you can get in the UK that you will not develop Paki neighbours.
- Community cohesion: We don't talk to the neds, so we don't care if the Pakis don't talk to them either. Again, this is a problem that doesn't affect the upper middle class. We don't ride the fucking bus or walk the streets at night, so the fact the streets are unsafe for the poor does not apply to us.
Our kids are not going to date any Paki boys. Don't think they aren't put extremely right on that front, and early too. All our kids are like us: they know the correct opinions to hold and repeat, and in practice we only ever have one token brown mate. And my token brown mate's kids are never invited over to play with mine. That's not happening on my watch.
- Long term effects: If the privileged classes of the UK gave any fucks about the long term effects of policies, as opposed to the policy of HAVE MORE MONEY NOW, the Conservative Party would not exist.
A bird in the hand is worth an entire rainforest of species tomorrow, because you'll be dead but your children will still have a bird. And every other cunt will be starving.
- Religious violence: Happens in poor areas. It's terribly declassé to not be generously religiously tolerant. Apart from your kids better marry someone of their own religion, no exceptions. My kids are close friends with the Jewish kids down the street. Love will never bloom there, because if it did their mother and I would be entirely on the same page about that not fucking happening.
Religious violence doesn't happen in well off areas, because when we call the rozzers, they actually come.
- Speech laws: You say the correect thing in public, always, and when you say the wrong thing, it's in your house with your trusted compadres who also have the same opinions. The speech laws are only a problem if you want to ned it up on Facebook posting memes with the Union flag and that thing.
I break the hate speech laws every fortnight at Parkhead and shit all is going to happen to me or anyone else for it. The Lisbon Lions stand is full of people who prosecute other people for breaking the law, and I assure you, they are all fucking breaking it too.
