I've always considered Dr. Todd Grande to be the best true crime youtuber out there, although he tends to be so classy about the subjects he covers that I'm not sure he even counts as one.

Rekieta is choosing not to consent, Kayla doesn't exist anymore, and my theory is that April is being given money to stay around as a fuckbuddy so she doesn't consent. Rekieta is also trying to get the bodycam footage entirely thrown out as evidence using a fruit of the poison tree argument. He really, really, really, really does not want this footage public.

Theoretically one of the police or CPS worker could also consent but I just don't see that happening.

It is probably the CHIPS case agreement to seal discovery. The footage is part of that evidence, o Nick's line is that releasing it for thr criminal case would undermine the seal on the family case evidence.
