I am also hoping that Nick decides he needs to sperg out over this petition and goes on a rant stream like every fiber of his being is suggesting.
As is documented in the motion, Nick Rekieta has a long history of advocating transparency in the judicial process through livestreaming to the public. I don't see any reason why he would oppose this. That would be rank hypocrisy.

Look, at this point, there's no avoiding it. We need to send in @Fapcop.

He can fix her.

He speaks her language: Star Trek. He can use the tried and true "Darmok method."

FAPCOP "Kayla, honey, listen to me." *snaps fingers* "You need to agree to this plea and testify against Nick. If you don't, then... Nick and Kayla, in prison, in Minnesota."
KAYLA: "Nick and Kayla, in prison, in Minnesota!?"
FAPCOP: "Yes."
KAYLA: "No! Kayla, her mouth open!"
FAPCOP: "Sokath, her eyes uncovered!"
KAYLA: "Yay!"
.
.
.
FAPCOP: "Soooo, would you be willing to sit on my face?"
Oh boy oh boy! I’d watch a season of Nutrek if that was the reward!

Amazing what love can do to you!
And I wouldn't have you any other way. Please never leave.

I thought the omnibus signing of lawyers already did that, huh. Didn't Hardin and Legal Mindset and some other sign that it would be in the interest of the public to have the hearing broadcasted? Sorry if it's obvious, but there's so many things happening, that I have a hard time keeping track.
I reckon the defendant making allegations about government misconduct/conspiracy with regards to this case makes for a stronger public interest argument than mere "public curiosity".
And Nick himself opened the door for such arguments by alleging foul play.

I'm sure they want her to flip on Nick and April, that's pretty clear but don't police usually want someone to flip on who sold the drugs in the first place? There may be yet another character that pops up.
Aaron Imholte is impatiently waiting for her to flip, so he can swoop in and be with his one true love.

Have any of you dudes ever done a remote signature?
I keep a digital version readily available for shit like this. I don't sign shit with a mouse, if you don't like my secure and safe digital signature I have saved on my computer, we're not doing business.

I hope Law & Crime does it just for the pure seething it would get from Balldo.

Listen, if people start shouting things out like last time, they're definitely gonna close any future proceedings, so please don't disrupt the court unless its really funny.
The motion that Hardin filed (with attached affidavits) is asking for audio-video recordings of the proceedings. Nothing that would allow that to happen. No two way communication between the public and the court.

In fact, the potential for disruption if people were to have to attend is (rather shrewdly) cited as a reason WHY the motion should be granted.

Hardin's filing is actually brilliant. Especially in light of Nick's attorney's bitching about what happened during Nick's initial appearance (see the transcripts MPR dropped). He's further hoisted by his own petard in mentioning Nick's views on trials needing to be public.

Lol.

Part of me also thinks that Barnes would want this to grift off of. I know he's not technically in charge, but he's got a lot of influence over Nick right now.

I think if Nick opposed this, it would cause friction between Barnes and Nick. Nick wants to try and save his reputation and concoct a narrative. For him, not having this trial filtered solely through him would be bad. Whereas Barnes, might not give shit how this plays out as long as he gets money and attention. It's not his head on the chopping block. It's Nick's. He could always just scream about government corruption if it doesn't go his way and he'll retain enough dumb rubes that believe him.

oh no I really hope he doesn't do this. He would legally and verbally own us loli-profile cyberstalkers. Please don't stream nick and PLEASE don't drink whiskey out of your monster rehab can, I don't think I could take the destruction of my person another dear john rant would incur.

I have some cheaper but stout quality woven rugs--nothing like a Persian--, but cheap shag is horrid.

The good stuff isn't really affordable any more. I just had a look online to see how much it costs and even the cheap shite costs £100 a square meter. They don't bother quoting prices for the expensive stuff they use in good hotels and the like. But it used to cost two or three times what they want for the stuff they're currently asking £100 a metre for.

You can put down decent solid hardwood for those sort of prices, which makes much more sense. It lasts forever and the patterns don't go out of style. But we've got mid-tier Axminister in the bedrooms I put down 35 years ago and it still looks great today. And you aren't walking on cold floors when you get out of bed in the middle of the night to go for a piss.
