Yak is the main person behind actually running FA's code. He is notoriously difficult to work with and nobody likes him, and the main reason why FA has been stagnant for over two decades. He refuses to work with anyone, hired or not, to fix or upgrade the site. Dragoneer always defaulted to taking his side in any conflict, which is why all five (six?) of the past "new FA code" reworks have failed.

It has long been suspected that he has some kind of very, very serious dirt on Dragoneer because over the past 20+ years, Dragoneer never did anything about this guy straight up holding the site's code hostage.

Like a decade ago there were some accusations he was hosting some weird Moldovian shit on FA's hardware, but that was so long ago I have no receipts so grain of salt and all.

Piche never even TALKED about it. Like the whole subject of Yak's holding the site hostage was a black hole. There were a couple of platitudes about 'well he kind of helps keep it running' but it was a forbidden subject.

Combine that and Yak coming from a territory where hacking is kind of a national sport and 'neer liking cub a whole lot, well, it's not hard to connect those dots.

If Yak ends up with the site it will be interesting to see what happens. If 'the mod team' take over people should look to see if Yak's pulling the strings. Interesting times.

I'm just interested in the financials. I know IMVU couldn't monitize the site, and Dragoneer was such a sperg about FA he bought it back at a huge loss to his own personal finances.

Who the fuck would be dumb enough to take on the website as it is (busted ass databases and all), and that's not even including the dire finances the site has to deal with.
I'm predicting a site death by mid 2025, or massive monetization A'la Twitter/X.
