I wonder if there's more beneath the surface. A lot of other posters have commented on Walz giving off creeper/pedo vibes and he has a lot of suspect statements and behavior that lends credibility to that. Because he's never been on the national political stage before, I doubt he's ever been seriously vetted or had dozens of people crawling through his history looking for skeletons.

I also don't know how much stake I put in the rumors of the VP selection, but according to those none of the major insiders (Obama, etc.) were even considering this guy, but Kamala picked him because he called Trump weird, which no doubt made her cackle with delight. I also suspect she may have done it to try to exert some autonomy and as a snub to those trying to run HER campaign. Assuming that's true, not even the Democrats might have done due diligence on this guy.

This enraged Parsons, who began the “babalon working”, an attempt to summon “babalon”, a supposed goddess, to Earth.

Supposedly he opened a rift between dimensions at this time, had a falling out with Sara and Hubbard (who scammed him out of a ton of money and bought yachts with it), and died shortly after due to an explosion at his lab after prophesying such a thing. Around this time is when you first start getting reports of UFOs en masse, and this is where the theories of first contact with the government takes place. Whether you believe that all this happened or not, this is definitely when the government got involved with the occult in an attempt to supplant God’s Will with their own, as that was Crowley’s main teachings and has reverberated through esoteric circles ever since.

Some notes about Parson that you should know that you forgot:

1. He ran a sex cult at the height of his occult practices and had invisible spell fights with Hubbard against invisible demons in his sex castle

2. The money Hubbard stole from Parsons basically bankrolled Scientology and Hubbard basically used a lot of what he learned from Parsons's sex cult to run Scientology cult-wise.

3. He ultimately lost his lucrative government clearance due to a combination of his communist ties and being a devil worshipper

4. Popular theory is that the explosion that killed Parsons was a mob hit. Prior to setting up his sex cult, Parsons freelanced as a bomb expert for the DA's office in Los Angeles. One of the cases that he testified on (and which gave him his first taste of fame) was a mob hit where a police captain was killed in a car bombing. Parson's testimony was critical for the DA to get a conviction and the mob boss basically vowed that he would get revenge on Parsons.

I almost agree, but I never grew up listening to City Pop and still come to the conclusion it's better than today's pop music. 21th century music that I would say is good comes from a different country, not the US.

Also, GNR had a cover of Knockin' on Heaven's Door which was a Dylan song. Not quite 50's, but still a great song and a good cover. A lot of great rock bands would be thrilled to play songs from decades back because they were usually huge music nerds that grew up loving those songs as well. In their MTV Unplugged show Nirvana did a Bowie cover.

I don't think you get my point. For a start Guns 'N Roses updated Knockin' On Heaven's Door, they didn't just do it the same as Bob Dylan. And Bob Dylan released Knockin' On Heaven's Door in 1973, Guns 'N Roses released their cover of it in 1987. That's only 14 years later. that's almost 3 times shorter the amount of time between 2024 and 1987. The fact is LOADS of music from 40 - 50+ years ago is still as popular with young people today as it ever was. The same can't be said of music from the 30s, 40s and 50s being popular with young people n the 80s, besides the occasional catchy tune in an advert or something or singing songs like White Christmas at Christmas. But young adults and children weren't regularly listening to them, let alone buying the records. Music was just objectively better in the 70s & 80s (and even earlier) than it is today.
