It’s more something you pick up reading, but a number of the soldiers who stayed with George Washington at Valley Forge were Catholic. There is a legend that Guy Fawkes Day was banned in the US because after Valley Forge Washington didn’t want to piss off guys who had stayed with him.

Stephen Moylen was Washington’s Secretary and basically was the Quarter master of the Continental Army. John Barry is regarded as the father of the US Navy. Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence, signed his residence and funded the Revolution (one of the richest men in the colonies at the time).
There was also Casimir Pulaski, a Polish Catholic nobleman, and Michael Kovats, Hungarian Catholic nobleman, who were inspired to volunteer to train the American cavalry into something functional. There's a lot of things named after Casimir Pulaski and a monument to him in Patterson Park in Baltimore.

Maryland was originally founded to be a sanctuary colony for English Catholics escaping persecution. (As I'm sure you know, but just for anyone following along.)

However, in practice, anti-Catholic sentiment couldn't just be waved away and religious toleration in Maryland (and the country in general) was always on shaky ground. At times it came and went.

Still, its origins left a mark on the state culturally.

I think a lot of the lofty principles laid out in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights had a lot of implications that the country took awhile to realize in practice.

(Not in the inane, opportunistic concept of "lol living constitution" where dipshits read in imaginary constitutional rights like they're divining tea leaves. But just in the sense that "all men are created equal" is a truly hard concept to live up to and I don't think the US gets enough credit for how far we've come to realize it.)

The Italian Catholics and the Polish Catholics have a big presence in Baltimore. The Wire does a good treatment of the Polish Catholics presence here.
@Marvin may know more about Jews during the Revolution as he is a Maryland Jew.
Honestly, it's not something I've looked into in all that much depth, and I need to brush up more on it.

My personal ancestry is mostly more recent transplants to the DC area. One of my great grandfathers was an immigrant from Russia (modern day Ukraine) and his family settled in New Jersey, and my grandfather married my grandmother in the DC area. I'm very glad I was not born in New Jersey.

We do have one of the oldest synagogues in the US in Baltimore, and some families in Baltimore almost certainly helped finance the Revolutionary war effort.

There's a section of downtown, a bit north of Little Italy, that used to be a Jewish neighborhood, but I think most of the Jews moved out to Pikesville, MD. Lol a few years ago, I even had a gun transfer handled through a Jewish FFL out in Pikesville.

They always have the prettiest women behind him, unlike the old wine aunts for that damn ho.

I remember watching an interview with Obama's campaign manager, and he talked about how strategic the placing of people is behind him; they would clear out the old white people and move them in the back and replace them with young black women so the TV cameras would catch it. Im not sure if this is what Trump does, but I would not be surprised.

They've done it always. Hitler put the blond fair young girls in front.

Kamala does:

@Marvin

The bigger thing was that Jews and Catholics could not hold public office under the British. No matter how respected by the citizens they were, they could not hold office officially.

Jews and Catholics sued for their pensions promoted to them as veterans, not because the money mattered but because it was a way to ensure the states would honor the Constitution.

Charles Carroll is also one of my favorite founding father for unironically shitposting in a newspaper and getting into months long debates with other people under the name ‘First Citizen’ and getting doxed. He also was recorded as saying “Talking means nothing, get the bayonets”.
Shitposting anonymously is not just your right as an American, it’s a tradition. Go make that Canadian faggot Jordan Peterson cry! Ben Franklin and Charles Carroll would want you to.

He Fedposted before there was Fed.

Because the different religions have different opinions on Batman

I'll take my puzzle pieces, but this always irks me. You have to be an absolute mongoloid or have zero reading comprehension to actually have this take. Anyone who has read the comics or watched the cartoons or live action movies knows that Bruce Wayne leads the Wayne Foundation which is one of the largest charities in Gotham. He represents the millionaire playboy philanthropist archetype in comics to the point where it's lampshaded.
If the guy wants to do some volunteer work at night after funding orphanages or urban development, maybe let him enjoy his hobby.

Wasn’t cernovich that manliness blogger dude that wrote about how the most manly thing to do is backpacking through third world countries to fuck bitches and you should definitely only do so raw but make sure to use a wet wipe on your dick afterwards?
That sounds more like Roosh. Come to think of it, I haven't checked in on him in a while- he's one of my favorite niche lolcows.

But it could have been both of them. There's no shortage of cringe in this world.

People that think that Batman does more harm than good don't realize that while dressing up like a bat and fighting crime wouldn't be an effective way to spend a fortune in reality, Batman lives in a fictional comic book world with wacky costumed supervillains.

The idea of re writing The Bible to be politically correct baffles me.

Christians believe that The Bible is the actual word of God, given to trusted disciples and acolytes and transcribed for everyone else.

Is that actually true? Maybe maybe not but the context makes the idea even more offensive than the usual sjw rewrite.

It depends on your definition of God.

If God is the force that aims humanity towards good, or something like that, then I suppose it could be argued.

Lol that is frustrating but what really annoys me about that perspective is they all have the same dumb complaint (I was surprised to see even Arabs saying the same shit) that he should be dumping his billions into social programs instead. Fucking social programs? Oh yeah they've worked out so good in San Francisco and Chicago and Minneapolis and so on.

I like to think Trump is doing a Three Stooges thing where he comically bumbles his way out of death and the assassins are just scratching their heads and going "the fuck?"
It's getting to the point that if they keep trying and eventually do succeed its almost certainly going to be so obvious who ordered it that it's going to self destruct in their faces.
That’s what I suspect. That or the rumored anxiety.
But she was a prosecutor, and a state one at that, and they are the lawyers who far and away go to trial the most. Admittedly, she slept her way up, but she’d still need to be going to trial and winning enough to justify her bosses promoting her. So she shouldn’t be awful at extemporaneous speaking, nor at quickly memorizing speeches. The fact her campaign keeps her this on script is quite suspicious imo.
Do we have any transcripts or video of her time in court? Any kind of Public records at all? Or is California a black hole of records?

I can fully believe that top right and bottom left are the same man with different lighting, expression, and vitality. Top left and bottom right are just different dudes, though. Top left even has a disconnected earlobe.
I can't tell you guys who is going to win. But I can promise with 100% certainty it's going to be a shit show either way.

I've had two people IRL say they're going to kill themselves when the results get announced so Trump can't genocide them. Apparently suicide for Trump is the it thing this week.

If Kamala wins there's a semi decent chance of civil war part 2 getting released early from everyone saying it's been rigged again.
No they won't. They're threatening it to get people to vote against Trump. They'll cry on twitter if he wins. If they were going to kill themselves over that they'd probably already be on suicide watch from prior attempts.
Nothing ever happens until it does.
Kind of got close on jan 6 to a happening. Maybe just maybe this somewhere something kind of close will happen again.
I thought Jan 6 would happening, but it didn't. Everyone got slammed for it like it had, so I don't think it will ever again. They had the momentum, they had the organization, they had t he ability to get there under peaceful pretense. I don't see it happening again.

Kamala's word salad is almost as bad as Biden's. In some ways it's worse. Biden I can somewhat tell what he's trying to say. Kamala I have no fucking clue. Her brain is equally broken.
Joe used to be able to talk, reasonably well, extemporaneously, even if every second word was a lie.

We don't have good evidence that kopmala ever could. I know she was a prosecutor but really, it's not all A Few Good Men. She was probably getting a lot of plea bargain prosecutions. If she was doing a lot of outstanding court work we'd have heard about it, like Giuliani

TIAs are very different from a stroke. They generally don't cause permanent damage or any brain cell death.
They're the same mechanism. 80% of strokes or something are ischemic attacks, the only difference being duration of the deprivation of the brain. That's where the "temporary" comes in. You can't even clinically differentiate them mid process, it's just a distinction of whether there's detectable cell death in the brain or not after the fact.
Kind of got close on jan 6 to a happening.
It really didn't. Other than the feds, no one was expecting it to kick off, or they would have been "equipped" differently. Those larpers with the zip ties to citizens arrest the Congress don't count.

Lesson learned though. I wouldn't like to be atf doing house calls in 2025 if the election is stolen again
That sounds more like Roosh.
Cernovich had one self help book about becoming a gorilla or something like that, and then in 2016 he had a maga themed one. Unleash your inner trump or something autistic

Roosh last I heard became an orthobro and repented his wicked ways after being deplatformed

Come on, you know if Batman attempted something on the macro level without the kickbacks, money laundering, corruption, human trafficking, that currently exists, the Jews would hire like 50 superheroes to go after him.

See if you are allowed to write that comicbook! 😆

Yeah, Cernovich was the "Gorilla Mindset" shiller. Basically selling overpriced shakes, pills and motivational speeches to manosphere suckers. He moved to politics because politics and religion is where the big money is in grift.

Roosh basically had pick-up artist's regret over his empty sterile life after his Mom died of cancer, converted to Orthodoxy, found mainstream Orthodoxy too lax and joined a schismatic group that LARPs as 19th century Russian peasants, decided that all of modernity was tempting him to sin, and now he basically lives inna shack inna woods praying all day and occasionally emerging to post a religious screed about how fallen the world is.

The milk is long gone from that lolcow, and it's kind of sad he never figured out moderation was the key to happiness.
