I think they've been onto the toothless amputee for a little while by now, even if Kelly insists otherwise. Child abuse is miles away from self-harm. Children are dependent on you. If you do nothing for a child they (should) get taken away but if you do nothing for yourself, past temporary psychiatric hold, you're free to just not eat or bathe and carry on until you die. Same for self-harm. Harming a child at all is not ok, but again past emergency involuntary hold, there's only so much that can be done for an adult. Even teens cut themselves regularly and they can be forced into therapy, rehab, parents can try to keep anything sharp out of their reach (but we all know that isn't possible). If a cutter teen's injuries aren't immediately life threatening there isn't much anyone can do for them as children either.

We have rights. Nobody likes Kelly doing this but nobody can stop her. We don't lock people in straight jackets and leave them in a cell for their entire lives anymore. It's inhumane. You wouldn't want to start championing for those policies to come back and then have them apply to you and your loved ones later. Don't.

BP threads always do have the potential (nay, tendency) to swing wildly into sympathy or empathy for the cow. Funny how that isn't seen so much in the Thunderdome, which tracks much more penis-heavy... Kelly deserves no sympathy at this point, though. She doesn't appear to be doing much work to help herself and she is not thick as fuck, so she clearly could have the insight and capacity for change. You misunderstood my comment. I'm saying that she's holding her family hostage because they probably have pity and see her as a poor amputee nutcase, and how families often have a hard time letting go of family members who are clearly beyond help because "they're family".

I'm surprised she's not going for an ostomy at this point, though maybe she feels committed to the Bechets lie and doesn't want to have to diversify her tactic again like she did after blood letting. Plus, picking and scraping her skin is probably of fond familiarity to her, as a former cutter.

As a Canadian, I honestly want to see the hard data that says those institutions were cheaper for the tax payer than this anomalous misuse of healthcare. Especially since they were rife with abuse. I'd rather Kelly be free to abuse herself, than be locked up somewhere being abused by some psycho whose wages I'm bankrolling.

She's not a danger to others, just herself, over time.
If she wanted to straight up off herself, that would've happened years ago. I don't even think she wants to die, she just wants to keep damaging herself. I don't think there's any helping that either, she lies about what happened and why. Won't admit she did all this to herself, not even “sometimes I self harm”, given all the scars on her arms. There's always a wild story of someone doing it to her, or a mysterious medical issue.
She's going to do what she does regardless. Unless she was drugged up and restrained 24/7, she'd find a way to do this in care as well.
I don't think there is any treatment for Kelly, she's like an addict who won't change unless she wants to.

Thanks! I appreciate the recap of the lore, which I had absolutely no idea of whatsoever, having read it since maybe mid 2019 (Was around the time when a friend of hers actually started posting here and it was really funny) and posting in it from august 2019, only slipping out of the habit around late 2023 when she just became too boring and repetitive for my taste, like I basically wrote. But hey, absolutely no idea of there lore, at all. So, appreciate the recap.
