There is one Nick stream where he actually did go after his local government. It was the one where he played the Killdozer footage, commented on it, and read some articles. Nick makes some comments about Granby, Colorado's government which he claims happen everywhere and he alludes to it being true in Kandiyohi County. Basically he claims local politicians and officials often rule their town/county as their fiefdom and can be just as bad as state/federal politicians. He isn't wrong, and it's a pretty standard complaint that I doubt 3 years later made the government send the police to raid his house, but it is true that he's commented on local government before.

Barnes initially was on some show (I think Marc Groubert, it’s someone my dad watches for JFK stuff) and basically sounded like he genuinely thought Nick needed help. I think Groubert or someone said that Nick is in the best place to get help because Minnesota has good rehab places and Barnes agreed.

I've been around the kids of parents who are narcissists. Children often see and comprehend more than you think they do, and will see through the bullshit in time. It's why narcs try so hard to isolate them. As soon as they have something normal to compare their home life to, they begin to know that something is very wrong. Once they have the opportunity, they separate from their narc parent and don't look back.
