I actually can believe that Algeria saw a deformed penis and pulled a John Money. I could believe that in Algeria much more than other places like Taiwan. I think if given the opportunity parents in such a country may take what looks like the easiest route and raise the child as a girl who perhaps will never have her own kids. Maybe this might've worked if they decided to be average: sure, their value in the culture is diminished but surrogates and adoption exist and some desperate brown dude would be their husband and that's it. To my understanding, they could very well still have what appears to be a vagina because anatomically speaking, both a penis and vagina are basically the same biological structures and the micro penis could be what appears to be a grossly enlarged clitoris while the undescended testicles make up what could appear to be the outer folds of the labia.
In this case, perhaps on some level, if this person decides or perhaps actually was "assigned female at birth" and that they feel they qualify to some degree that they are a woman, they can identify as "a woman" in average Algerian culture. If their husband wants to accept a hermaphrodite then who are we to really care.
I was watching an interview with a professor of gender studies and they talked about how its kind of shitty of the Olympics, when they want to be so "inclusive" to not account for these issues when it already came up (Caster Semenya) before as it basically forces these otherwise possibly just normal but possibly "biogically sexually dysfunctioned" humans to be ripped apart on a world stage with their gender identities shredded for the rest of their lives. By setting standards and having testing, they can eliminate such things before it enters a world stage - especially if the condition is unknown to the athlete prior to testing.
Which it sounds like for Khalife, it might have been. If I were to theorize - they were raised completely as a woman. Their parents did not like them boxing because the parents already knew such things like drug testing existed and they knew their little girl was not normal. Still, they were not going to break the news after so long and Khalife did their own thing up until the Russian league tested. In disbelief, they disputed it initially but then withdrew. Perhaps the parents were able to further twist a story that yes, they'd test that way because some reason but you're ~ still a woman. So they believe, yes, I am, and the new society tells me I am regardless and the Olympics let me compete, as a woman, so I am a woman.
In the case of Taiwan - they know. That is what everyone is talking about when they say sometimes coaches seek out "these anomalies". That's the anomaly they purposefully sought out on a conspiratorial level across whatever organized crime shit that goes on in boxing. They literally don't give a fuck because they know what they're doing. Y'all can call that a, man all day - they brought home the gold so fuck you. That bagged a couple dozen, if not hundreds of, Asians major money somewhere.
For Khalife, I think it's like a highschool quarterback tearing his muscle and his football career is over before it started. Sure, you're passionate but you're "handicapped" and maybe you'll just be a coach now instead. Which would be a net positive to women's sport if they were a coach instead of an athlete given their unique experiences as a fighter.
But now they have to join the gender wars so that's a giant waste of everyone's time. I'm not really that sympathetic to what's basically David Reimer being taken in by the western gender cult. We know how this turns out, anyways.
