Women didn't campaign against "sex-based spaces," they campaigned against male-exclusive spaces that were utilized in such a way that they blocked women and girls from succeeding in crucial ways. Many (if not most) male-exclusive spaces women protested against were not innocent "let's get together in the woods and talk shit" situations. For example, most colleges were male-only until relatively recent history, and women had to fight to be included and to have the ability to pursue secondary education at all. Many other male-exclusive spaces that have been protested against were functionally networking and dealmaking spaces where banning women meant that women were functionally unable to succeed in their careers the same way that men were. Nobody gives a shit about your boys' club where you play D&D every Thursday and drink beer, but women sure as hell will care if all the politicians spend their Saturday nights arranging who gets the backing of the party at the male-exclusive club downtown.

Also, the boy scouts didn't go unisex because of the evil women campaigning against the poor maligned boys. They went unisex because their membership was getting lower, and to continue to exist as an organization they needed to bring in new blood. The fact that little girls also enjoy going out in the woods and learning how to build fires is a nice side benefit, though. You want the Boy Scouts of America to continue existing? Per the IOC, the individual governing bodies for each sport determine what they feel constitutes a "woman," so you're right that there isn't a single standard unfortunately. However, the IBA - the governing body for boxing until recently - defines a woman as "an individual with XX chromosomes," and they did test the individuals' chromosomes, not their testosterone levels.

Notably, this is being really confused by the fact that both boxers' respective governments have openly lied about this and are claiming that Khelif and the other athlete failed testosterone level checks. But the IBA has always been clear that that's not what they were testing for at all.

You're trying to make this sound like you and your friends were somehow victimized in this situation - told not to cuss when a child, oh noes! - but it really just makes you and your friends sound like sexist idiots, and makes you personally sound like the kind of guy who still thinks girls have cooties. Grow up.

What most likely happened is that your area only had one space of that kind for kids, and given that there is nothing uniquely masculine about workout equipment or arcade game cabinets, people in the area thought girls should be able to play there too, so they petitioned whoever ran the place to let girls in and they agreed. Hardly a grand feminist campaign. Then again, the type who complain about this kind of really basic inclusion for women and girls are usually the types who believe there shouldn't be any kind of spaces for women and girls other than the kitchen and the bedroom, so I don't know why I'm surprised to see this here.

Edit: If the club you're referring to is, in fact, a Boys Club (and later, Boys & Girls Club) of America, a simple Google search will show that this male-dominated organization made the decision to change their name and mission in 1990 to include girls.
