Fwiw I had never heard of Ada until you told us about it. That was pretty neat. I had no idea anything like that exists.

I was searching around in the thread and didn't see anyone posting this stream from June called Linux Sucks 2024

It is long, but he covers some interesting stuff, like how Redhat got rid of their full time Libreoffice engineer, how openSUSE/SUSE got de-listed from the stock exchange they're on for doing so poorly, and just the general sad state of open source news coverage. I haven't seen sites like Phoronix cover a lot of the things he mentioned. I stopped using HackerNews years ago when the banned my account and shadow banned several blogs I followed, but I do know they flag anf censor a lot of stuff.

#embed is one of the few things i wish was standardized, which is why i thought it was cool to see that happen, but the times i've used something similar (like converting a image to a static hex array) were so few and far between i don't really have the strongest need for it.
i also noticed jean retweeted b0tster (nitter), who's kind of my personal lolcow. i mainly bemoan his use of unreal engine 4 of all things for his pathetic fromsoftware ripoff "games", a total lack of understanding of techniques for texturing low-poly models, and general indiedev retardation. oh, and commissioning fat fetish stuff of his tranny bunny avatar. why do so many people follow this one trick pony transvestite with zero original ideas is beyond me.

Not sure if this is still the case, but for a period in time Pale Moon by default wouldn't allow users to install NoScript as an extension. You could work around it but for a default setting even if NoScript does break a bit of shit, a browser shouldn't restrict an end user in such a retarded way as stopping the installation of selective extensions because quite frankly it's not its place to restrict like that, so make of that what you will
