Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

So what should we make if anything of the Ukie advance into Kursk I'm assuming it's an absolute nothing burger?
Quickly advancing through undefended territory is a lot easier than holding onto it when the counterattack happens, so I don't see this amounting to much.

But wow what a monumental embarrassment for Russia. I don't even blame the Ukrainians, they're led by spiteful fucking idiots who are itching to bleed Russia so of course they'll take advantage of an undefended border. People need to be fired.

Apparently they're trying to fortify but I don't know how well they can do that on a short notice.

While it is almost unbelievable that the Russian border was basically undefended. It is ultimately easier to fix and destroy an enemy attempting to move through open territory than blasting them out of the prepared positions in the Donbas. Not that I think it was a trap. My suspicion is that the Russians thought there wasn't a high threat that Ukraine would use the rest of their reserves on a bonzai charge toward Kursk.
I don't get what this move is supposed to achive. Just embarressing Russia isn't worth a bill payed in blood. There's a point right, someone way smarter than me must see how digging improvised positions across a border is better than relieving a colasping front in your own claimed territory.
The Ukraine's strategy is always based around photo-ops and gotchas, like when they got a bunch of guys blown up crossing the river to plant a flag and shoot a video. This is a larger-scale version of that.

I think it's because the police in the USA have been wanting to strap explosives to them so they can preform extrajudicial executions reremotely.
Police in Texas already did that over 8 years ago to kill a guy who gunned down 5 cops in downtown Dallas

They duct taped C4 to a bomb defusal bot and drove it into the shooter.

It's not policy, though. They're really looking forward to policy which allows them to carry death robots in their squad cars and be able to use them as just another tool available to them without approval from any higher ups. Like tasers, firearms, or pepper spray. If you thought wrong-address swat raids were bad, just you wait for the wrong-address drone strikes.

But anyway that's off topic. That's just why I suppose they're controversial.

Desperate suicide mission to try to get back in the news. Ukraine sacrificed their best remaining troops and last reserves.
You say suicide mission, but I think the attack might actually save Ukrainian lives when Russia completes its encirclement.

I know far more men have been captured over the course of the war, but it's been in gradual groups of dozens or hundreds at a time.

When tens of thousands are captured at once, Ukrainian families would get the shock they need to take to the streets en masse and end the NATO backed tyranny. They don't need to fear the secret police if everyone does it.

In territory that they don't know, no less.
Prior to 2014 Russia and Ukraine had an open border and full freedom of movement between them and you could still easily cross the border until 2018, are you seriously suggesting Ukrainians have never visited Kursk before?

Do we forget back when Crimea was rightfully reunified with Russia in 2014, Russia bald face lied saying the little green men weren't Russian soldiers and were just local volunteer militias who bought complete Russian army uniforms and equipment including PKMs from military surplus stores in Sevastopol?
Whether or not that is true it is missing my point because Russia wasn't expecting it to determine outcome. My point is that Western politicians have become so used to living in a world where playing word games and appealing to authority works for them, that they don't understand that saying something is so doesn't actually work against nations willing to go to war with you.

You can really tell when ukraine takes a pr win, hohols start gloating outside their designated shitting street. Mysteriously, it all goes quiet after a few weeks. Mysterious.
Atleast it's better than the WW1 trench warfare LARP we've been having for almost 2 years and recreating Grozny '94 in random Ukrainian towns.

What do you think will be outcome of referendum inside Kursk People's Republic? Will they choose to join Ukraine, or remain independent?
90% indepedent
10% Ukraine

It will be the first democratic vote in Russian history and completely legitimate according to expert election observers. The long-oppressed Kurskian people will vote for freedom from Moskal domination. It will be recognized by all prominent authorities like the US State Department and Kosovo as a wonderful liberal democracy. Its president Slavomyr Slavyvych Slavyvskyiv will tour the world with Zelensky tearfully begging we hand him a few billion dollars to save his democracy, since the Moskals are out to genocide the Kurskian people and their age-old culture. Saving our democracy starts by giving 100 billion dollars to the Kursk Peoples Republic

Should unironically do this and at the opportune time, like a villain in a Marvel goyslop movie, turn to the audience and say "Just kidding"and slaughter every Banderite within 100 miles while laughing like a maniac.
Oh wait, will never happen becasue hohols are brothers. Just murder the mercs then.
