15 seconds in I wanted to shut the video off.

this solidified my idea that D'Angelo will troon out by the end of this year.

Video essayist culture really destroyed the critiquing space, be it movies, shows, games whatever. This particular video reminded me of that. I'm sure you've seen it, it was being pushed in my feed for 7 days straight by gaytube before I gave in.

TL;DW: He thought the movie was one-dimensional because he saw it as a movie about a crappy couple accidentally ending up in a cult. Now after he had his traumatic breakup that gave him multiple PTSDs, he understand the movie better. Cue long ass diatribe about narcissism and echoism and things. While on surface it may not seem like a Breadtube slop, it has all the hallmarks of it:

• Forcibly making himself talk for close to an hour, we can't have short videos because conciseness is retarded.
• At least 20 minutes of solipsistic monologues about personal life, in this case his failed relationship where he was totally the victim and the other a narcissist
• Individualism bad, collectivism good. Western individualism bad because all Western individualists just don't care about war victims apparently. Oh wait, the evil cult in this movie is collectivist. Well ackshually they are bad because white supremacy and eugenics.

Even though Ari Aster is a massive fag, the movie was pretty enjoyable. But no, nothing can be enjoyed unless it caters specifically to me, and has some political undertone behind it. Otherwise, movie bad.
