The main thing is that Phil has a history of drinking a lot, and he always claims to have been an alcoholic. Now he isn't anymore, but he still drinks. I have never heard of a former alcoholic drinking in moderation. Maybe these people exist, but Phil is not the guy to look for high self control. As already stated: Phil might be a alcoholic technically (amount and how often he drinks), but it hardly seems to affect his business, so probably not somebody who needs help.

Bonus: The bankleaks, which according to Phil were not his bank leaks, but somehow is identity was stolen and cost him thousand of Dollar, show that a significant amount of his money gets spend in total wine. I don't know the exact numbers anymore, but it's here.

It's a stupid thing to lie about and really alchy is the easiest thing to drop and not want anymore.
I guess one could say he isn't a destructive alcoholic anymore but he's definitely still a dopey drunk with them late night twitter escapades.
At least this is the first time he actually has done something worth noting that isn't embarrassing.

DSP is actually growing on Null.

Whereas he used to say he didn't get DSP at all before so he just ignored it, it's just a board that exists, in recent months when he's increasingly more frequently talked about DSP's antics in MATI with befuddlement and fascination at how weird and alien Phil is sound exactly like what why the detractors say they like this lolcow.

He's been covering DSP more and more frequently since, probably triggered by Phil getting his attention since that, and was laughing at his insanity as recently as last week, basically saying the same things the detractors said about DSP.

Oh wait no, their lowest point was last night, not a year ago, when there were superchats for Phil up to $750 and tips reaching over $1200.
Given the amount of time and the extreme drop off to rock bottom, I would say that is quite the decline detractors have going on.
