NASA sucks private space travel has been proven to be better defund NASA It has become a propaganda agency for "diversity" and climate change, while billionaires like Bezos and Musk are sending us to space with their own money.
That's what it became under Obama when they had nothing more to do with space exploration, lol.

And now Elon's talking about nuclear power being good. People have no patience on these things. I do with they'd really put research into Gen 3+ and 4 to last until hopefully fusion sometime in the distant future.

I get the impression that Trump isn't as knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of how to decrease spending (because it'd take a massive review process) but he does agree it should be done but isn't something he wants to focus on for himself (hence the proposed commission to handle it).
There are a couple issues like this where Trump won't discuss them in detail as much because he doesn't seem to know all the details yet.
That 20 mandate post Trump made concerns me as there's no game plan of HOW to achieve them. In college, we used the SMART method to structure our goals for success. He gave us the what, but there's no how. It's the opposite of Project 2025. I'm not saying write a 900 page manifesto, but provide a roadmap so people can have an idea of what it takes.

I wish someone would inform Trump that there are also ways to ranch/farm that are carbon negative. I'm definitely not a global warming fatalist but soil erosion is definitely a concern. There are great efforts being made in improving regenerative agriculture (utilizing cattle to build up soil and sequester carbon via the roots in the pasture) that is carbon negative and healthy for the planet, and can be done alongside crops and fruiting/lumber trees (silvopasture).
This also helps with skyrocketing costs of fertilizer as you can use animals to fertilize.
Not to mention cattle provide extremely high quality protein, nutrients, and food to help combat malnutrition.
No one talks about it, but there's no reason to get rid of cattle, but unless you pay attention the ranching science space the only thing you'll hear is cows bad.
We all know Trump loves his McDonald's so maybe someone will tell him eventually. The biggest barrier is there's few people who can educate and tutor ranchers on the science behind it and how to do it without sacrificing yield (highly important in an industry with razor thin profit margins).

Assume we will see more in depth on the website soon. Early days yet, he just wanted to get something snappy up quick.

Nuclear war causes endless winter.
actually there is a lot of doubt about that. the original study on nuclear winter used data from USAF bombing of japanese cities in WW2 which were mostly made out of wood and paper and the bombing of which caused firestorms that probably would not happen in a modern city made of stone, concrete and steel.

plus there is doubt that there is enough possible ash and soot in all the cities in the world to cause a nuclear winter anyway. Volcanic winter on the other hand is very possible.

I strongly believe 'nuclear winter' is vastly overrated. I remember Carl Sagan saying if Iraq set the oil fields on fire it would screw up the weather and then it didn't happen and the whole thing kind of dropped.

It would certainly make things real bad in the northern hemisphere above ground in general for long enough to kill most people, but I doubt the southern would get all that bad off.

Nobody tell Elon that every classroom has 1000ppm CO2 (and anywhere else you have a group of people in an enclosed room).

You can’t really get above 500ppm globally, algae blooms kick in before then and drop CO2 back to sub-400 levels. That’s why the only time levels go that high are after comet strikes and major volcanic activity that blocks sunlight for years, preventing immediate algae growth.

Trump promises to abolish the Department of Education!

"I will abolish the Department of Education" - Kamala tomorrow

Trump could save trillions by just denying illegals access to Social Security alone. He knows it, we know it, everyone knows it.

Another big one I think would be hindering remittances, it's estimated that illegals sent nearly 700 billion back to the shitholes they ran from in 2022.

Is it me or does Trump sounds like he's slurring or lisping?

I think it's whatever mic he's using, from past conversations he had I've never heard any sort of lisp

The Democrats have notoriously been anti-American space exploration since the 90's. Clinton tried to curtail it, and Obama successfully curtailed it.

I'll never forget when NASA had its final space shuttle mission in 2011, and all of my Obama-loving lefty friend nerds were all like "OMG what a sad day in America! I wonder how this happened?"

Obama literally made it one of his campaign promises to cut NASA, you fucking idiots! GAH!

Honestly, even though Dubya was an absolutely terrible President for numerous reasons, his support for NASA was one of the reasons why I was happy that he won his reelection in 2004.
Now NASA is a fucking mess. Someone around here ages ago worked for NASA and leaked a bunch of emails they got from the higher ups and it was all about sensitivity training and making sure to use the correct pronouns for people and all kinds of woke and troon shit. Make fun of Musk however you want, but SpaceX clowned NASA the first time they made the booster rockets fly back and land on a platform in the middle of the ocean.

I’ve never been under the impression that Elon was particularly anti-gas, just that he wanted to develop electric cars into a viable alternative. And regardless of what you think of electric cars, Tesla, or Elon Musk, I think he has succeeded at least partially in laying the groundwork for electric cars to potentially be viable for mass adoption in like 50 years.
Yeah, someone once said that Elon isn't about all that green shit - he just thinks it'd be cool to make electric cars. He has the money to play with it so why not? I mean, look at the cybertruck. Between the name and the way it looks, it was definitely made by some gamer nerd who lucked into a shit ton of money. Think about if you had Elon's budget, what retarded shit you'd come up with and it makes sense. Man, I still hope to win the lottery but I feel sorry for everyone around me if I do.

I've heard him in person, he doesn't have a lisp
