Then where the fuck is it supposed to happen, retard? Kiwi Farms? We need to stop relying on social media for everyday information. X cannot, SHOULD NOT, be a public space for political discussion.
Baraka Hussein Abu Oumama was a grifter and a con-man... Nothing more, nothing less. He happened to have a measure of charisma that played with stupid people in a highly uncertain time. Other than that he was a literal Manchurian candidate wholly constructed and operated by most of the same cast of cretins now pulling cum-on-Cumuluh's stings; the good news is she's wholly unlikable and lacking charisma.Well, there were a few reasons.
Gen X never experienced an effective liberal president before. Jimmy Carter stunk on ice and Bill Clinton was more of a moderate. Their presidents, really, were Nixon (R), Ford (R), Carter (D), Reagan (R), Big Bush (R), Clinton (D), and then Little Bush (R). That's a lot of Republicans. Obama was very fresh and said the things that Gen X wanted to hear.
Millennials grew up with the tail-end of Clinton, followed by 8 years of GW Bush which weren't that great. Then comes this young, black, well-spoken dude promising to undo all the fuck-ups of Bush - and there were a lot of them. Obama also had incredible social media engagement and his get out the vote efforts for first-time voters was likewise extremely effective. Obama knew how to win elections.
In my opinion, it was very much a "time and place" thing.
I don't know what's funnier: that some seething journalist fact checked Trump on fucking bacon, or that orange McDonald's enjoyer got his bacon facts wrong.I fucking hate journos. Fact-checking yesterday's claims.

"Umm actually, you're only paying 20% more and the IRS is up your ass so illegals and niggers receive thousands, but this is only the worst inflation we've had in 50 years!"

But that's what Trump does. He'll say, "500 million people crossed the border just in the last 3 years!" so the fact-checkers go "Nuh-uh! It was ackshually 300 million!"I don't know what's funnier: that some seething journalist fact checked Trump on fucking bacon, or that orange McDonald's enjoyer got his bacon facts wrong.
Hey, if Black people can burn a city down, Bulldozer is inevitable. Somebody will be pissed off enough to try.
That was Chris Matthews.David Brooks called it a thrill up his leg.
I think the problem with Republicans is that a lot of people were still looking for "hope and change" and Romney offered neither. This desire was a big reason why Trump (and Bernie before he kissed Hillary's ring) had a lot of momentum in the Primary and in the Election. People were still looking for that hope and change promised to them back in 2008 and Trump was offering both.Don't forget that obama probably had one of the worst turns of public support in his presidency since probably nixon, there were obama signs in my midwestern high school, people were fucking hype about obama. but by the time i was in college they had started multiple wars in the middle east and had tons of scandals and even the hyper liberal college professors couldn't brook him anymore. obama really only seemed to win the 2012 election because the republicans got cocky, thought they had it in the bag, and ran an unlikeable chump
well also because their candidate was a Mormon, which is probably one of the worst candidates you could choose when trying to appeal to America as a whole.obama really only seemed to win the 2012 election because the republicans got cocky, thought they had it in the bag, and ran an unlikeable chump
Rightly or wrongly, GW Bush was seen as a bumbling idiot. So, Obama looked great at the time. Folks like David Kilcullen openly comment that, behind the scenes, GW Bush was actually very serious and the way he appeared on TV was something of an act because he thought that's what Americans wanted to see on TV - especially after 9/11.I’ve never understood this. Obama is not a good speaker, he sounds fucking terrible and does that retarded shit of trying to sound smart by taking 20 minutes to explain a 5 minute idea or just talking in vague platitudes.
Mitt Romney sucks.Don't forget that obama probably had one of the worst turns of public support in his presidency since probably nixon, there were obama signs in my midwestern high school, people were fucking hype about obama. but by the time i was in college they had started multiple wars in the middle east and had tons of scandals and even the hyper liberal college professors couldn't brook him anymore. obama really only seemed to win the 2012 election because the republicans got cocky, thought they had it in the bag, and ran an unlikeable chump
Bill Clinton got whacked in his first term and then spent his second term doing good bipartisan politics. He was fiscally responsible and he was willing to tell ghetto black people they were retarded (the famous "Sista Soulja moment"). I'm not going to defend his other whackadoo shit, of which there is plenty, but there are layers to his presidency. The Bush years definitely had problems but little of the economic crap was actually Bush's fault. In fact Bush's tax cuts(few remember those) created economic growth for several straight years. Of course those were mixed in with clown shows like No Child Left Behind(worked about as well as the Inflation Reduction Act)
I would consider The Patriot Act and trillions spent on various police actions far worse. When you pile the loss of manpower caused by those conflicts the price is even more severe.
The crash itself was not majority Bush's fault. It was Clinton's fault and Cuomo's fault(yeah the same Cuomo that murdered tens of thousands of people and used slave labor to make hand sanitizer). NAFTA combined with the repeal of tax breaks for Puerto Rico and the inflation of the subprime bubble can all be laid at Clinton's and Cuomo's feet. Of course had banks not been so willing to abuse that bubble the damage would have been less so they get some blame as well.
Oh then the Fed showed up with a pin in the form of a rate hike and boom!
The only reason Clinton is remembered with anything other than scorn is media spin and the fact that the tech sector was an ATM at the time.
His legacy is failed policy and a loud mouth psychopath that will not go away.
Oh and I have made pretty clear how much I loathe the Bush family but I will close by saying this is in no way a defense of him.
I don't think Obama is that simple/trope-ish. He has motives and goals like any other candidate and he was very much a political maverick, which worked to his advantage. His about-face tarnished his legacy, as mentioned in one of the posts quoted here, but was the result of his relative inexperience. In my opinion, anyway.Baraka Hussein Abu Oumama was a grifter and a con-man... Nothing more, nothing less. I knew conservatives who didn’t vote for him for that reason exactlywell also because their candidate was a Mormon, which is probably one of the worst candidates you could choose when trying to appeal to America as a whole.
Back then there was that whole controversy with JFK because he was a catholic, but I don’t think Catholics have ever been close to as controversial even back then as Mormons.
When/how did he get his CSM rank stripped? I was under the impression that he didn't finish 3 years as E-9 which is why he retired as an E-8 (but I think that just means he gets paid as an E-8 though, not that he is one? idk)

social media
noun
plural in form but singular or plural in construction
: forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos)
This. I remember the 2004 election.Obama was set up at the 2004 DNC. The Progressive faction had already chosen him as their darling.
He speaks in the kind of tone and cadence that is hypnotic - for retards - and does his best MLK impression.>well-spoken
I’ve never understood this. Obama is not a good speaker, he sounds fucking terrible and does that retarded shit of trying to sound smart by taking 20 minutes to explain a 5 minute idea or just talking in vague platitudes.
Virtually all criticism of Obama was responded to with, "You are a racist."He speaks in the kind of tone and cadence that is hypnotic - for retards - and does his best MLK impression.
It also just so happens to work on the same kind of people who think it'd be racist to say that a black dude has anything other than impeccable speaking skills just because he dun tawk like dat nigga on da blawk nah mean?
They are trying to pull the same shit with kamala but she's been in the swamp way longer and said way too many insane shit to do the same.This. I remember the 2004 election.
Sure, some liberals were sad about Bush winning reelection, but I noticed more excitement over Obama winning his senate seat more than anything. I saw the writing on the wall almost immediately about what Obama's political career was going to look like.
People forget that he served less than a single term in the senate before he became President ... Not to mention he voted "present" in the Senate more times than anyone can count. He made himself a blank slate for the average voter and paid huge lip service to them in 2007-2008 all the while the excitement over voting for the first black President overcame the majority of voters.
Honestly? If Americans had actually gotten 8 years of 2008 Campaign Mode Obama, then his Presidency actually wouldn't have been so bad. He ended up being the embodiment of The Patriot Act on steroids though.
