Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

So, for anyone wondering what Trump is going to do regarding Putin in a potential second term, I caught a snippet of the Elon interview. He talks about how he personally threatened Putin with bad things happening if he did anything, and then told Elon he got along great with Putin.

I guess we know what Donald considers a proper place for Putin now: bottom bitch.

Center for Eastern Studies assessment of Russian social media, and official media. YouTube and Signal are being blocked in Russia to prevent images of the invasion gaining widespread traction in Russia. Localized shut down of satellite, cell phone and land line communication has also been imposed with relatives no longer able to reach family members on the theater of operations.

Russia is becoming China.

Nah, it's just bluster. Trump still owes way too much to Putin and his cronies to be anything but still their useful patsy.

Those are literally 18 year old conscripts on their 2 year national service. Putin swore to high heaven he would never use these troops. Since they are essentially teenagers in a government run summer camp. Considering they are up against the men who fought in Bakhmut, this is akin to taking a Highschool Reserve Officer Corps unit into battle against a Ranger Battalion. Smartest thing those boys did was immediately surrender.
Some of these kids have been spotted begging for advice on Warthunder because the ingame textchat is the only way they can say anything that isn't immediately picked up on.

In Vovchansk, Ukrainians use salvaged hybrid vehicle hydrogen cells to make huge thermobaric bombs delivered by ground-drone:
I'm sincerely intrigued by this; would love to see how the Ukies actually managed to pull off a real life Mass Effect engine-bomb that worked.

Meanwhile, Kursk’s governor is saying they’re going to resettle evacuees from Kursk to occupied Zaporizhzhia. From the pot to the frying pan. Another day, another Russian war crime.

Might be unethical but probably smart? Like I mentioned before and someone else on the previous page, it's a perfect opportunity for Ukraine to disperse their agents across the region and deeper into Russia along with evacuees, so sending them in the opposite direction might help with that somewhat

it's insane to me. all this footage of ukrainians peacefully marching through villages, waving to the locals, giving them rides, chuckling when they run up to say "slava ukrani" and going on about their day. Juxtapose it with russians soldiers raping women in the snow and shooting civilians and unarmed people in the street during the start of the 3 day special military operation, and people still have the audacity to call the ukrainians terrorists.

ukraine could march to moscow with a tickertape parade celebration and russian babushkas running out to kiss them, and you'd still have people calling them rapist pig dogs.

Three Russian soldiers are unloaded right next to an occupied Ukrainian trench. They are shot dead the second the APC starts to move away. Of course it doesn't stop or try to support them.

This here situation is more or less why USSR boasts such losses in WWII IMO. They emphasize "bravery" (recklessness and unnecessary self-sacrifice in our case) so they could throw soldiers at the trenches in these unsophisticated assaults until an enemy is overwhelmed at the cost of far too many Russian lives.

Looks like some affluent Russian families are going to be pissed; first that they were lied to about their sons being in combat, then when they find out their little Ivans surrendered to the filthy hohols, and lastly when their MoD fines them for their perfidy & cowardice:

This is the youngest & cleanest group of Russian soldiers I've seen together outside of their new Young Pioneers organizations. Makes me wonder who their parents are & where they came from.
He that guy seriously wearing a flannel shirt?

I'll laugh if it turns out the sole reason they are even there was to just collect medals for 'defending Russia' to flex with in the future while staying completely safe as Ukraine was supposed to be too scared to step foot past the 1991 border

I can't believe I'm saying this but good luck UAF, onward to 10k square kilometers and beyond

Twitter is actually blocked blocked, since there was an actual court order for that, YouTube is simply throttled to the point of being non-functional. YouTube is what replaced TV for me long ago so it made me seethe quite a bit, but I found solution within 15 minutes (like most people).
Someone came up with a fix quickly, it was actually already a thing just due to RKN's fuckery in general, it just so happens that people don't like being restricted. Goodbyedpi on Github, had to fuck with browser settings (enabling QUIC protocol and Kyber or some shit), now YT works as it did before.
Got a similar app for my smartphone, but it doesn't help with YT app since it doesn't allow messing with settings like that, so I just tweaked mobile Chrome and access YT through it instead.

Now clients en masse drop internet providers across Russia over YouTube (since even normies often watch it instead of traditional TV), to the point it got them scrambling. There's apparently a legal entity of sorts comprised of Russian internet providers, and they're drafting strongly worded letters aimed at RKN over this bullshit. This is the most pushback against government action I've seen in years, they're more upset about having their cat videos and Minecraft playthroughs taken away than the war, it's crazy.
If that's what it takes to make RKN finally fuck off, I'm all for it. They're overstepping with this big time, if you deny people their bread and circuses, you're inviting trouble.

There's no court decision ordering blocking of YouTube, and they attempted to conceal it at first by lying that the problems are due to degradation of Google's equipment. Now it's a "necessary measure" to make YT abide by their retarded laws, pay fines and cooperate (lol), but it's the regular citizens who has to pay the price as usual. To many of whom internet is the only escape from the madness they've unleashed, with YouTube being one of the most prevalent sources of escapism.

It's kind of like mobilization - they really want to do it, but it's too unpopular to do so without fucking themselves over and inviting more problems. Speaking of which, there's some reports citing sources within Kremlin that they're discussing another wave of mobilization at the end of this year, because regions are falling short of recruitment goals.

Holy shit. A fucking Toyota hybrids fuel cell can do that?
Call it pedantry but I don't think this is using a hybrid's battery, considering they use fairly standard lithium ions. The car they got this from is likely from a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, which are rare cars to the point that I actually have never seen one on the roads irl. The picture provided looks like the high-pressure hydrogen tank from a Toyota Mirai.

How many more able bodied men will they be able to moobilize before they run out of ethnic minorities (Buryats, Yakuts, Chukchi, Tats, Evenkis, etc)? Because when they will go for upper-middle class from bigger cities, people won't be so indifferent.

More surprised that more ethnic minorities aren't rioting over being treated as so disposable. Russian rule really broke any sense of dignity those people ever had.

Desperately under supplied soldiers hopped up on amphetamines driving German tanks into Russia? Man history really does repeat itself.

Meanwhile in reality OSINT autists have geo-located satellite images showing Russia hastily constructing defensive fallback lines 10s of kilometers from the border:

Now I'm no strategic genius, but that seems like an odd thing to be doing if the Ukrainian incursion is basically already defeated.

German prosecutors have obtained a European arrest warrant for a Ukrainian man they believe was involved in the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, according to media reports Wednesday.

The man, however, was able to escape arrest, German media reported.

Germany’s federal prosecutor general is seeking a man identified as Volodymyr Z. for privacy reasons. He is a 44-year-old Ukrainian diving professional who was last seen in Poland and has since disappeared, according to reports by ARD, the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit.

The man was identified as Volodymyr Zhuravlov by the Swedish newspaper Expressen — part of the reporting consortium covering the story.

The subsea explosions in September 2022 took out three of the four Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines transporting gas from Russia to Germany and sent geopolitical shockwaves around the world. There are continuing unanswered questions about who was responsible and fingers pointed variously at Russia, Ukraine, the U.S. and the U.K.

Nord Stream 1 had been in operation since 2011; Nord Stream 2 was completed but had not yet begun pumping gas by the time of the attacks. The pipelines had been enormously controversial, with Ukraine, the U.S., Poland and others criticizing Germany for tying itself to Russian gas exports — a position that became untenable following Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Denmark and Sweden also opened probes into the explosions, but those investigations were suspended without naming a suspect.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously denied Kyiv was involved.

The German prosecutor's investigation into the blasts also points to two other Ukrainian nationals — a couple who run a diving school in Ukraine where Zhuravlov worked as a diving instructor.

Authorities believe Yevhen and Svitlana U. attached the explosive charges to the pipelines. According to the investigation, the three expert divers were in the Baltic Sea in September 2022 aboard a German sailing yacht called "Andromeda."

According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the German prosecutor had listed Yevhen U. and his wife Svitlana as possible accomplices, but the report does not specify if it had issued an arrest warrant against them.

The two have denied knowing Zhuravlov and said that they were on vacation in Bulgaria when the attack took place.

According to the media reports, prosecutors believe Zhuravlov last lived in a village west of Warsaw before disappearing.

German authorities transmitted the arrest warrant to Poland in June after they were able to identify the man thanks to photos and statements from witnesses, Die Zeit reported. According to the German media, however, it’s not clear why the Polish authorities failed to arrest the man and didn't respond to Germany’s request for legal assistance.

RKN is Roskomnadzor, government entity overseeing censorship in the digital space, among other things, not an ISP as you might've thought. With that in mind, their only client is Putin.
Worth keeping in mind that this regime would happily compensate these companies for the damage with taxpayer money or tell them fuck off. It's their way or gulag, after all. This ain't a normal country by any stretch of imagination, so I wouldn't really expect much to result from this.

Does "fela" in "FelastoryMedia" stand for "fellatio"? "Real Global News" lmao, what kind of shithole runs this totally legitimate media entity? The whole thing is 1 in 1 Kremlin talking points.

That's why they're hesitant to do it. It has really shaken society last time around, even though they tried to limit impact as much as they could. People that support this government the most are also the ones believing this won't touch them, the ones who listens to reassurances on TV and SMO cope without doubting it. Although as you might've noticed, some of them are happy for their sons to become an heroes, while their wives value potential monetary compensation more than husband's life, I believe that the majority is not as enthusiastic about this prospect. Everyone eager to go already did so, often for money than anything else (how very patriotic).

Though my response to such news would be "So where the fuck the previous 300-500k guys went?". It's something I expect every reasonable person to ask themselves, and more importantly the government.
I'm sorry, but fucking what?
