Light and relevant seems like a good standard. Especially if they experience feedback on it. One thing that makes ads annoying is you can't yell at the companies pushing them on you. If someone makes a post here saying "I did this thing" people can at least yell "gay!" or "cringe!" at it if needed.

it's good to see that open association with this little forum of ours is no longer a short cut to cancellation, and also I hate niggers.

Yes with the caveat the user/product needs to be tracked.
It would be terrible for the webzone to have projects advertised, but never delivered, akin to normal crowdfunding sites, or comicsgate creators that aren't black men in Texas.

We should all self promote here. Group therapy and all that shit. I love myself and I should be able go express that in a loving and peaceful space like Kiwifarms

Maybe allow a thread or board where users are allowed to shill their own projects companies, business, only rule is that you yourself is part of the project and that the link is not a link with referral code?

Then all can be there.

yes, if it's a creative endeavor that can be made fun of, there's nothing to lose and a funny thread to gain.

Crunklord promotes his TempleOS games and Nidal promoted his Palestinian Max Payne knockoff here. As long as it isn't obnoxious and shitting up nonrelevant threads, I don't think it's a problem.

As long as they don't constantly shill, I think it seems reasonable. They're putting all their chips on red by linking their real identity to this place, but that's ultimately their choice and it isn't your job to protect people from powerlevelling.

Yeah as long as its not just spam shit, i don't see a reason to not allow people that wanna promote their personal project. Be it comic book or venture they wish to fund/kickstart. To be honest, you have to be pretty crazy to want to promote here so I'm curious what kind of folks would even want their stuff associated (even tangentially) with the farm.

Many a funny threads if retards can make a fool out of themselves by advertising shitty or embarrassing products.

It's bound to end terribly in about a year or so with somebody fucking it up for everybody.

But whatever. I for one welcome the entrepreneur selling butt wipe wands in the AmberLynn thread.

I don't see a problem in allowing people to engage in commerce.

I don't even mind banners as long as they don't obstruct the main content and make you click on a button to close it, I remember when every website had ads on both sides of the main element, never bothered me.

I wouldn't even mind ads on youtube if you could just skip them immediately.

It's the forcing you to consume them to get to where you want to be that makes me want to pull my hair out.

Let them do it, it's not like it's bothering anyone if one guy in one thread promotes his work to people who's interests line up with what he's doing.

I will join #DropKiwiFarms if you ever put a modal pop up ad and blur out the background, though.

Start a mega thread containment for self-promotion in business. There’s too little actual discussion to warrant a new board.

Yes. It's not advertising in it self that is bad. It's that it is shoved down our throats when we never asked for it and don't want it. A kid having a lemonade stand with a sign is wholesome. Unilever confiscating your attention to sell their rotten soylent is not.
