Vance is more competent than Shapiro is, because Vance has actually had to do things and move up the ladder. Shapiro's entire thing is sounding smart, yet even against someone as retarded as Eric Swallowell he accepts the arguments and tries to qualify his positions.

The entire Daily Wire group is the equivalent of the annoying friends of your wife or girlfriend who, if she's not smart enough, will convince her to do something stupid and screw up things irreparably, but they can keep talking because they aren't really affected one way or the other. They talk tough but never went through what Vance did in life, they never served in the military, they talk about work and blue collar labor like it's interchangeable so why not import all this shit. I know all this because I used to think that way, but real life shows up and no, I do not want more Chyna shit in this country, I do not want the "hard working" illegals in this country, I do not want to be the police of the world or give other fucking countries even more money. It is Mike Pence conservatism and I fucking hate it.

I don't give a fuck about Shapiro being jewish, I don't give a shit about jews one way or the other. I'm a Catholic, not a bitch ass jesuit, and that's what the world should be. My objections to Shapiro are him being the kid who prides himself on being the smartest when he's not, and instead of getting smarter and/or wiser, will just try to take down the smarter person in order to be the smartest by subtraction. And that is exactly the retarded DC Beltway thinking that fucks this country over.
Fair enough, but I don't see Shapiro like that. I do appreciate you explaining your view and being polite towards me about it.

An important endorsement from Trump, this is as real as Kamabla's crowds so it counts, these are the new rules:

"They let me vote. Did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever candidate I wanted. You know me, I did my research. Watched as you became the President we needed you to be. Like others, you were strong, and swift, and brave. A natural leader. But you had something they didn't, something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck. Was I wrong?"

Nigger who the fuck is comparing Shapiro to Vance?
You sound really angry for some reason about stuff nobody is talking about. But nice ad hominem!

The main reason why they will drag Joe’s corpse over the line is that, as people have said, it’ll make Kamala look awful. She’d have to actually do things and respond to criticism. She can’t run on, “We will do _____ when I get into the White House” because she could do it now.

She’d likely turn off the girl boss crowd enough where she actually has to worry about losing a sizeable percentage if she looks like a fucking retard.

The current strategy of Kamala’s campaign is similar to Joe’s during Covid, but even more like a turtle. Trump is the right level of aggression, Vance is effectively the Yin to his Yang. When Trump is diplomatic , Vance is aggressive. When Trump is aggressive, Vance is diplomatic.

I've been wondering this for years, but never felt I had a trustworthy place to ask before the farms.
Are there any recommended books about US history that kiwis would recommend? Anything that's interesting really, the civil war, who the founding fathers were, the founding of the CIA or the fed, Nixon, JFK, Waco, ruby ridge, important events in congress etc, how things work, weird niche subjects.

As you can imagine my high school history/civics education was mostly memorizing dates and names, and not the finer details or critical thinking and of course through a pretty biased slant. Obviously asking for unbiased resources is impossible (history is written by the victor, etc) but at least ones that go over differing views, or at least lay out the facts adequately enough to where you can draw your own conclusions even if the author draws different ones.

I'd really like to learn more about my country but I've struggled to find sources that aren't massively cucked or trying to spin a narrative that leans left or neocon.

I'd prefer books as I often listen to audiobooks while working, but I do have some long commutes for work as well so articles and such are fine too.

Thomas Fleming - A Disease in the Public Mind. Leadup to Civil War, starting essentially from formation of US. Bias, if any, is against The Narrative(tm).

A.J. Langguth - After Lincoln. The political shitshow following Civil War. Well written and pretty unbiased IMHO.

I'm not even 'Murican, but these two seem to cover US politics upto about 1900 rather well.

If you asked me a few weeks ago I would think that Kamala would be revealing her agenda at the DNC.
At this point if we get anything substantive I will eat my hat.
The Harris campaign has said they will do one interview by the end of the month. Singular. At this point I would be shocked if they published anything before the 2028 election.

This entire thing started with you defending Shapiro in regards to this fake rumor about Trump panicking about picking Vance and a struggling campaign. Shapiro doesn't like Trump, he never has and always does one criticism to every nice thing he has to say about the man. He supported Meatball in the primary like an idiot, and is acting nice to Trump in order to grift some more but is always there to concern troll things that completely flip his ideas on their head, such as "muh free trade and tariffs bad."

He doesn't like Vance, because both Trump and Vance and their vision of modern American conservatism run against what Shapiro thinks it should be; a permanent minority representation outside of a few states that will become more akin to Indian Reservations as liberals gather more power, all because principles first.

Ulysses S. Grant wrote a good autobiography and memoir. It’s honestly very good, it does go into detail of US politics at the time. I wouldn’t say it’s self-serving as Grant does criticize his battle strategy and his failings as a president.

Grant himself is someone who I view as potentially a good president held back by the establishment and media fucking hating him. He had no clue what he was walking into and tried to best he could, but I wouldn’t say he was good. He was similar in Lincoln that the circumstances give him an out, but he wasn’t as educated on law or politics as Lincoln.

He has an interview from years ago with Vance. He has always liked the guy.
His immediate reaction to the pick was positive. All the non-cherry picked records show that he is positive towards Vance.
But sure, he's just been lying through his teeth, scheming and deceiving people.

Schizo.

Man, could Clown World deliver the greatest twist and have Ol Joe drop dead while giving remarks at the DNC? Can't hide that and now Kamala has to have policy get all over her.
I'd prefer if Biden just disintegrated into a pile of dust the day before Trump's inauguration, making her the First Woman President!™ whose sole act in office was to hand the keys over to Trump.
