As you can imagine my high school history/civics education was mostly memorizing dates and names, and not the finer details or critical thinking and of course through a pretty biased slant. Obviously asking for unbiased resources is impossible (history is written by the victor, etc) but at least ones that go over differing views, or at least lay out the facts adequately enough to where you can draw your own conclusions even if the author draws different ones.

I'd really like to learn more about my country but I've struggled to find sources that aren't massively cucked or trying to spin a narrative that leans left or neocon.

I'd prefer books as I often listen to audiobooks while working, but I do have some long commutes for work as well so articles and such are fine too.

I’d highly recommend starting with the Constitution and Federalist Papers if you haven’t read them already, they’re exceptionally important primary documents that will give you insight into the founders. I’ll think about it more and give some other recommendations, but that’s always where I recommend people start when trying to learn more about our Nation.

Between this shit and the posts with fanfic about Tim Walz being a "dad" to JD Vance, I am absolutely convinced that a large number of leftoids have fucked up childhood backgrounds with inappropriate parental figures. It's just so fucking weird that so many of them reach out so desperately for a role model parental figure and latch onto people like Kamala or Tim or even when they were doing it with Joe. These people are so fucked up that clearly not even their own families want anything to do with them and thus they have to reach out for whatever retard branch they can grab onto.

A Nation at risk proved schooling in this nation was dog shit. The main reasons people got quality education back then had fuck all to do with teaching. An intelligent person can pick up how to do calculus from someone that doesn't even speak their language as anyone that's taken a math course in the US in the last century can prove.

It's insane to act like schooling in this country is good. Everyone who's honest and observant knows it's daycare. The percentage of people that qualify for college is such a small percentage that it's obvious why employers and colleges prefer immigrants.

Just by attending elementary school in this country your shot of getting a job drops by half.

College courses obviously aren't worth their cash. If someone offered you 40 hours of a podcast all about American history for $2000 to you wouldn't take that deal and most college classes are that level of overpriced and worthless. And 40 hours is pretty accurate to for how long classes are. If it only took that long to teach someone calculus ii or nuclear physics we'd be teaching it to everyone but it's more about self teaching and you can do that for free.

TL;DR school is daycare and the intelligent people that run everything have to teach it to themselves because college certainly doesn't

And the reason why college degrees are now necessary is because of businesses demanding them because they didn't want to train employees themselves. People go for a credential that isn't really a credential and certainly not one businesses are required to honor. American education has been fucked for generations and it's not going to change any time soon.
