Never actually watched any of his content.. Spent 5 mins skipping through his latest SF6 stream and he kinda did okay? Several characters to 5 star diamond. At least not terrible.

While skipping through yesterday's late stream, I noticed how utterly shit his current PC/streaming setup is. He has a very decent PC, but:

• he uses a TV as a monitor
• he plays First Person Shooters with a controller
• he uses a keyboard in conjunction with a controller so he can use hotkeys
• the TV is on his right side, but the keyboard is on his left, so he has to turn his whole body and look away from the TV to use the keyboard

Also, his PC is set to 4k 60hz because that's his TV's limitation, but he plays games at 1080p 120hz thinking they'll run buttery smooth. Unless he changes resolution settings every time, which he's not, those games are being displayed at 60hz.

Not really. You can basically brutehack your way to diamond by just playing enough.

He not a terrible SF player, he knows enough combos and cheap tactics to beat a lot of casual players. Thing is he thinks he's a top tier player but gets destroyed by anyone who figures out how to counter him. Plus he's not only a terrible loser but a terrible winner as well, gloating when he beats someone then ranting at and insulting anyone who beats him or coming up with nonsensical excuses like the ping being too low to react.

I hate to political sperg in this holy thread, but with both US candidates saying they will no longer tax tips will Phil now be getting essentially a tax free income after the election?

The PC can actually run at 4k 120Hz with an HDMI 2.1 cable on that TV. From the review of the TV he bought:

I know people were clowning on him for buying an "expensive" HDMI cable, but this is one of the few scenarios you actually need one. I say expensive, but in reality, he still shouldn't spend over $20 on the cable. Now the TV has 4 HDMI ports, with only 2 of them being HDMI 2.1. If Phil still isn't getting 4K 120Hz on his PC with the new cable, then he isn't plugging it in to the correct HDMI port on the TV. I don't think he'll ever figure it out, even if someone tells him he's doing it wrong. Phil's too stubborn. He will call you an idiot, then ban you if you dare to help.

No. It doesn't really matter what he calls them, it isn't cash so the government is going to know how much money Paypal gives him regardless. There's no opportunity for him to hide any of that money from the govt. I think he said someone advised him that he had to stop calling them donations so the money wasn't confused with charitable donations (even though that's what they genuinely are, lmao).

Also I don't think either candidate has said specifically how this tips policy will be codified. I'd be surprised if you could just declare by yourself certain income is tips and I'd also be surprised if it didn't specify that it applies to specific positions (bartender, food server, cooks, etc). But who knows.

Phil still streams from the 3K lemon running Windows 8.1. Despite getting "donated" a brand new computer, which is more than capable to stream from, Phil still plans to steal his roommate's wife's PC from her office to use as a streaming PC.

He isn't using the mini PC anymore, and he never streamed on it. He is streaming on his old PC he said was dying. Then he begged for a year or two straight for a new PC, claiming the dying PC was going to break one day and he wouldn't be able to stream. Then, recently, "a generous fan" bought him a brand new, pre-built gaming PC that he isn't even considering streaming on. Instead, he's playing Street Fighter on it. And he might take his wife's old 2017 PC to stream from.

It was really never about streaming, he just wants as many toys as possible but is legitimately too broke to afford paying for them, or needs to appear broke so he's paying for them and claiming a viewer bought them.

I understand the confusion.

I got to Master in a month and I suck at fighting games and haven't played one since Season 2 of SF5 (I prefer watching instead of playing). Getting to Master as a "former pro" isn't an accomplishment. But yeah fighting games is the only genre he's half competent at. Problem with Phil is he has a scrub mentality, and thinks he's better than he actually his.

Harris said hospitality workers will have their tips no longer taxed, not "tips are now tax free," so your presumption is equating two policies that aren't exactly the same. If Trump wins, yes, and then a bunch of hedge fund income is about to become "tips" income too and the deficits will blow up even bigger. If Harris wins, Phil is not in the hospitality industry so he's paying the same.
