Sonic and autism/lolcows - Why are they so drawn to it?

My girlfriend has autism and doesn't care for it, she even says fucks that series. Perhaps cause she never really played it or got too into Mario and Legend of Zelda, a rare white elk case this must be. It seems that many autists do on the other hand just have some kind of fascination with talking animal characters, it could have something to do with the world in their minds perhaps.

I never got the appeal of Sonic, other than the two cartoons from the 90's. I know allot think Sonic is the only game SEGA makes.

Where's Mickey Mouse now? Where's Bugs Bunny?

Sonic is the only furry that's maintained some degree of relevance in the past decades. It's only logical that autists and furfags cling to him.

Autism didn't exist back when Mickey and Bugs were popular, Chris cultivated the first generation of autistics, remember?

I know I'm necrobumping but wasn't Chris in high school when he drew that? Literally looks like it was drawn by an 8 year old...

My girlfriend has autism
lol

I think it's more that the autists are the only ones left in the fanbase, everybody else jumped ship years ago.
This. The only people who still cared about Sonic in the post-Dreamcast era were the autists.

Big, expressive eyes and faces with easy to read emotions. Bright, colorful characters. Simplistic plots that are easy to follow. It's the same reason they like My Little Pony.
