The guy only posted in the Nick Rekieta thread for the first time on Page 4173 of the thread on May 24, 2024 (CST/Minnesota time) which is the day after the arrests took place and a few days before he allegedly sent the email to the county. The posts stop on June 6, only about two weeks later.

It's worth noting that skimming over his initial posts, they appear to somewhat preview Nick's later claims that the evidence from the search should be thrown out. The poster even speculated that Rekieta could have a case for civil damages.

Nick and Kayla are dumb fucks for doing drugs around their kids and for needlessly living in squalor but, to me, it also seems like the cops went heavy handed when Nick et al was actually cooperating in the legal sense. Depending on local laws (and how it actually played out) this could be legally relevant. I'm really curious to see the bodycam footage.

What I am saying is that the scant details that we have suggest Nick may have grounds for a 4th Amendment violation claim and/or excessive force claim. Possibly even emotional distress on behalf of his kids.

That said, the drugs appear to have been the driving impetus behind the search warrant. If the entry was obtained improperly (aka any evidence is via "fruit of the poisonous tree") then the police have no drugs. If they have no drugs then they have no aggravating firearm charge. Hell, they may not even have a messy house to make negligence stick.

The only strong part of Rekieta's motion is the citation of Rule 4.02(d)(v); I'm virtually certain there will be no stream of the Omnibus Hearing next week or of any other pre-trial hearings. If Rekieta doesn't plea out, I'd wager the judge will allow the trial itself to be broadcast subject to obvious restrictions (no broadcasting the testimony of kids if they're called, no filming the jurors, no filming during recesses etc.) I'm guessing Rekieta thinks this will be dismissed before it reaches trial or that he will be able to negotiate a very lenient plea deal.

I'm curious to see whether the judge will rule on this at the Omnibus hearing, and whether the state will comment on the public interest in a broadcast. Is Null's counsel going to attend the hearing? It would be rather fun if he did...

It isn’t routine in Minnesota since as Null has stated multiple times it either needs to be signed off by a party or it has to meet some criteria of public interest based on misinformation.
