Isn't that the whole spiel of his career? He got in the game early as he was able to crank out episode after episode because of his fast food (best analogy I can come up with) tier content while others used direct capture which at the time was a technical night mare. He basically flooded the market. But then the competiiton grew and more entertaining people emerged who were also willing to invest time into the visual quality. Like in Turkey tom's doc on Phil he mentioned that Pwediepie entered in 2012 and he had a better visual quality and was also more entertaining then "chiki chang wang" Pihl. And it went from there. Add to that the algorithm change that actually punished Phil (who wants to bet he was one of the reason it was changed in the first place?). And thanks to Youtube getting bigger and bigger it drew more and more people into it making their own content. He was also always very gatekeepy when it came to gaming. Remember the Tobuscus rant? Stay in your lane don't come to the gaming section you are stealing my viewers! Heck Youtube video gaming is so huge you probably can't even name all the content creators who are the top dogs in gaming. Phil is just a remnant from the old days and he will stay on Youtube forever because he will never work a normal job ever again

Truly the face of a winner in life with a loving family, great house and does something that he loves and enjoy. Of course we are seething at this walking success of a man.

That's about how I feel. The documentary isn't going to make a difference. Phil's fans won't care and the people who watch it who weren't already familiar with Phil weren't going to stumble onto his channel in the first place.

Phil is an odd combination of wanting to be an edgy wrestling heel while simultaneously running a FUN family friendly kid's show. His prestream encapsulates that... the intro with the Disney music, then in 10 minutes he'll be ranting about something stupid telling people to eat his ass.
