I have no clue, it is odd especially how they have carried water for her for weeks now. There was another panelist, a black lady replying to Harris' proposal of a 25k subsidy to buy a house. The panelist replied that all that would happen is the cost of homes would increase by 25k.

I don't know what everyone else's history lessons were like, but in social studies we were taught that prices being fixed reduced incentive to make products as it cost more to make then what is earned selling the product, and even mentioning widespread price fixing should raise alarm bells in anyone that has received a proper education.

Some have theorized that CNN was promised things like interviews and exclusive coverage on the Kamalla campaign in order to support throwing Biden out the door. But because Kamalla knows that exposing herself like that is the last thing she should do, she decided to ghost that and return back to the basement campaign strategy. So the guys behind CNN are mad and as a result are spooling down the starling media coverage.

If Kamala really was serious about the housing crisis, she would actually have been doing mass deportations while Border Czar, in addition to advising against bills like Build Back Better due to heavy amounts of federal spending, of which most of it went towards industries notorious for not being able to make a profit (like solar and air). She could have actually done this already as vice president, or at least have gone against the grain for those issues, but she ultimately cares about what benefits her at any given moment. If it means screwing over the common person, it’s fine, and plenty of other politicians operate this way. You can’t solve the housing crisis by not addressing illegal immigration and over spending, both of which Kamala has enabled with being Biden’s vice president.

The whole idea has the stench of bureaucratic central planning surrounding it, this should be enough to make all sane people opposed to it. A government can use fixed prices all it wants but someone is losing money somewhere no matter what. Businesses are not charities and will avoid anything with fixed prices attached to it like the plague if it means they'll have to take a loss on a product constantly.

It's possible that actual price controls are a bridge too far for CNN's decision-makers, as they know it will turn out very poorly, in obvious ways that they won't be able to paper over. There is no spin that they can put out that will cover up being unable to find a store that sells food because they all went out of business, and no one will be unaware of who to blame.

The main, underlying issue here that no one in DC wants to admit is that there really is no way to get out of our spending debacle without raising taxes or axing significant areas of federal spending like Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, or defense spending - and even that last one usually only accounts for around 10-15% of spending, while the former 2 account for ~50% of federal spending. Good luck convincing Americans that their bennies ought to be slashed.

Our current spending is completely unsustainable and frayed corners can be cut here and there. Tightening the belt and being fiscally responsible now is better than leaning into our current situation like a crippling alcoholic in a doomspiral. However, without additional taxes, we're pretty much fucked.

The problem with this is that many people in government have this nasty little habit of taking tax revenue and spending it on their pet projects rather than paying down the debt.

The general public should force the current government into involuntary bankruptcy then create a new government. Maybe if enough people filed bankruptcy against the government they could get it done?

Can't seem to download the video but here it is. My father grew up in the 70s and he told me about how cars were lined up for blocks because of the price freezes on gasoline. Whoever has their hand up Kumhola's ass making her talk is insane if they think shit won't hit the fan when people start lining up in front of the supermarkets.
