Claudia Black(Morrigan’s VA) said she wasn’t coming back but that was in 2022. So either she was lying under NDA or she got brought in relatively late.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Morrigan has a bit role in the game. Maybe tying off the old god baby plot or something to do with Flemeth.

But yeah the trailer feels desperate.

Two years is more than enough to add her as a cameo.

There are characters I’d like to see more than Morrigan that have far less chance of ever showing up again.

Fenris-my broody elf slave with magic tattoos
Merrill-waifu!
Anders-I want to actually decapitate him with a hammer if I didn’t knife him the first time.

The awakening cast.

I want to see Sten make good on his promise.

She might just be one of Morrigan's many half-sisters that were confirmed to exist in comics.

But then again, it's nuBioware we're talking about.
I was wrong, it IS Morrigan.

Can't wait for the shitshow this game is going to cause.

People have unique HoFs they consider theirs, they RPed as.

How can you account for the human mage that deeply hates having magic and supported the Templars, the sleezy Mahariel that never saw a man he didn’t want to rob, or the female city elf that killed Zevran after sleeping with him, broke up with Alistair and ended up a lesbian with Leliana and forced Alistair to the dark ritual?

You can’t input that sort of variety into a voiced character. People were mad enough “their” Hawke didn’t match how they imagined them at all.

The HoF is never coming back. Because they’d have to do something like six or seven character animations with different voice actors.

(actually like 12 animations give there are six origins and they can be male or female).
I don't know why human male warrior would need more than one voice actor.
They had that dragon age keep back in the day to transfer around you save files, I'm sure the vast majority were exactly that. As it should be.

Eh. I like playing mages and elves. But I wouldn’t badmouth majority preference.

Even with that you run into a problem.

The male Cousland background can be-married to Anora, and king consort, just a warden, and in romances with Morrigan and Leliana and there may be an old god baby or just a regular child.

There is also the fact that BioWare has left the dangling plot hook of curing the calling. Thing is this would change the setting too much if they decided the HoF succeeded.

So I think the HoF will always be in limbo-they’ll probably never come out and say the HoF is dead but they won’t confirm he succeeded in his quest to cure the calling either. They are leaving their options open while also not committing to bringing the HoF back.

(Though if they ever have a game set more than thirty years after origins IU and no word from the HoF, then I think you can assume their dead, or otherwise out of the story).

Only way I could see the Warden coming back would be them having a convenient throat injury offscreen that leaves them mute, with a running gag of characters failing to interpret what the warden is trying to say, leaving it to the Player to play translator.

I wanna see how Bethany or Carver are holding up after Hawke's death. Or if they're both dead, give me Aveline.

It looks like Sea of Thieves LMAO. Jesus fuck why is everything so soft looking? Is there just a generic design doc being passed around that says 'Use these principles when making charcters'? They all look like fortnite mod characters. Blobby, mushy, weak looking characters.

The gay necromancer character has a googly eyed skelly servant named Manfred because this game is written by reddit users who think being excessively quirky is the same thing as being good.
"Isn't it funny I named this skeleton."
'That used to be a person, you sick fuck.'

Could you imagine actually meeting that in real life? Like, someone essentially has a demon invade and possess the body of a once living person, and then he plays dressup with it, and gives it a new name and accessorises it. You'd think he was a serial killing necrophiliac or something. The writers of this series seem to fundamentally not take their own world and character seriously anymore. Why would I want to pay good money for a shitty, bad fantasy coded slapstick?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that "Manfred" very very desperately wants to be Morte from Planescape: Torment, but there's not a single person working on this imminent dumpster fire who's fit to sniff that game's jockstrap.

It's the vidya equivalent of Corporate Memphis.

Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite games, that I still replay once every couple of years and nothing beats a human male cunning rogue, as you get insane damage, the best origin + follow up and a high cunning stat unlocks extra dialogue options that are very enjoyable, especially when it comes to Morrigan.
When it first released, I pirated and tried DAO2 and it was a disappointment. This and EA's general kikery led to me making a solemn vow to never, ever buy or play any of their pozzed games ever again.
When that abortion, Inquisition, released, I could not believe how boring and gay it was, but the threads on /v/ shitting on it were some of the best ones.
And finally, looking at this latest iteration from a franchise that's been dead and raped into oblivion, again, all I'm looking forward to are the threads shitting on it.
Just looking at that trailer, a visceral disgust similar to watching maggots, swelled up inside me. The cheap cartoony graphics, effects that look more at home in a gay club and the character art style that just screams "tranny from california made this", all of it tale a story, one of a rushed and hellish production and the cynical nostalgia bait for some easy money gain.
I hate it and I hate them.

Looking like Fortnite makes perfect sense because pretty much everyone thinks this was originally some kind of mobile title or hero shooter before the decaying Dragon Age IP was clumsily stapled onto it.
