I'm moreso convinced the media was so dead set that Hilary was gonna win that they were all collectively trying to create a new wave of feminist media. My powers of autism are tingling. So, some thoughts. I have noticed the concurrent rise of the "geek" culture with lolbertarianism. Which describes Danny and many other youtubers from his generation. From the Skeptics TM to Breadtubers to the Alt-Right TM to the Bloodsporters. What happens when you take a "Culture" of consumerism and mix it with a political ideology that encourages said consumerism with no moral/logical/ethical constraints and a build in escape goat. Why did former brothers in arms during gamergate like Woz Lee and Chris Ray Gun turn against Sargon and Mister Metokur? Because buying shit is not a principle and over time once the conversations became what they should believe beyond that. Everyone's true political principles came forward and that was the death nail.
Problem with Gamergate was the same as Occupy. The message got diluted and couldn't stay focussed on what it shoud have. Which really shouldn't been surprising when it comes to consoomers. The point should have always been "fuck Journalists". Game journos, being the incompetents they are, got caught red handed shaping propaganda and narratives and breaking all sorts of ethical codes. They were just doing what all Journalists do, but they provided a foot in the door. Instead of staying focussed on that it became about "SJWs in muh toys", and the conversation switched to that. Anita, Zoe and others were distractions the movement fell for hook line and sinker. What is worse Metokur, Sargon, Woz Lee and others all started promoting Milo Yianopolous (a dishonest narrative twisting propagandist) and in bronzing him ended up endorsing the same behavior they should have been complaining about. With focus lost it turned into grifting and getting just as outraged as the SJWs on dumb shit.
Case in point, the more recent gaming movement started with just "Sweet Baby Inc.", then it became about consulting firms across the gaming industry, then it included SJW/leftist politics, censorship, localizations, journo influence, female characters with man-jaws, shilling Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2, and so on.
The paradox is: How do you get those who care about escapism to fight for it when the moment you have to fight for it, it stops being escapism?
Make it a game. Make it fun. And make it focus on achieving that one thing before "declaring victory". Let them carry on with gay shit like saying they achieved "highscores" or whatever terms they want to use. Utilize that short attention span and dopamine feedback. Pick one thing, go at it. Let everyone circlejerk about what a good job they did for a month or two before picking the next thing and doing the same.
Tbf, the reason for that is Jim doesn't take anything on the net seriously. End of the day, reason he's so "successful" is he knows where to draw the boundaries between IRL and online. I'd imagine that same mindset is what keeps him kinda 'grounded', where he doesn't give half a shit what his followers think and will happily insult them and quit the net if he thinks they're wrong and go against him.
Ironically, that probably cost her the election. The Dems were sitting pretty and had near-universal support among the commonfolk until radical feminist SJWs caused many former Obama supporters to swing to Trump's side. If they didn't do that, if they just maintained the Obama party platform as it was in 2012, Hillary might've had an easier road to her husband's former office.

Ironically, people like Razorfist and Spoony gained their cred by having such extreme personalities that came from having a thin line between the character and the real person. But that comes back to bite them when people get tired of that shit or they say stupid shit that they can't retract so easily because people know their real life opinions.

If you watch around the time his relationship with Scarlet started to crack, even his videos showed it. That's the one thing Spoony has over Razorfist. The raw, natural reactions that are genuine because it comes from the bottom of his heart.
